Empirical scaling of the L–H threshold power for metal wall tokamaks using a multi-device database
The empirical scaling for the H-mode power threshold in tokamaks has been revisited using a database with threshold data from machines with a metallic first wall as part of International Tokamak Physics Activity (ITPA) task TC-26.

Enteropathogenic E. coli (EPEC) infects the human intestinal epithelium, resulting in severe illness and diarrhoea. In this study, we compared the infection of cancer‐derived cell lines with human organoid‐derived models of the small intestine. We observed a delayed in attachment, inflammation and cell death on primary cells, indicating that host ...

Poloidal structure of the edge parallel flow in H-mode, L-mode and I-mode confinement regimes
Impurity profiles have been measured with the edge high field side (HFS) and low field side (LFS) charge exchange recombination spectroscopy suite at ASDEX Upgrade enabling the study of the poloidal structure of the edge parallel flow in H-mode, L-mode ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Nonlinear simulations of the peeling-ballooning instability of super H-modes in the HL-3 tokamak
As the newly built tokamak in China, HL-3 will explore high-performance operation scenarios, such as super H-mode. The energy confinement and core parameters in the super H-mode can be much larger than that in the normal H-mode.

On Greenwald density limit in H-mode
The experimental Greenwald density limit in tokamak H-mode is explained from the requirements that in the edge transport barrier the radial pressure gradient does not exceed the ballooning stability threshold and the plasma collisionality corresponds to the transition from the plateau regime of neoclassical transport to the Pfirsch–Schlüter one, where ...

Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.
