Determination of the strong coupling constant αs(mZ) in next-to-next-to-leading order QCD using H1 jet cross section measurements: H1 Collaboration [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The strong coupling constant $\alpha _\mathrm{s}$ is determined from inclusive jet and dijet cross sections in neutral-current deep-inelastic ep scattering (DIS) measured at HERA by the H1 collaboration using next-to-next-to-leading order (NNLO) QCD ...

Site-directed Mutagenesis of nm23-H1

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1996
We report the first correlation of Nm23 sequence and its tumor metastasis-suppressive capacity using site-directed mutagenesis and an in vitro tumor cell motility assay.

Influenza AH1N2 Viruses, United Kingdom, 2001–02 Influenza Season

open access: yesEmerging Infectious Diseases, 2003
During the winter of 2001–02, influenza AH1N2 viruses were detected for the first time in humans in the U.K. The H1N2 viruses co-circulated with H3N2 viruses and a very small number of H1N1 viruses and were isolated in the community and hospitalized ...

Linking structure and function of the asialoglycoprotein receptor H1-CRD using site-directed mutagenesis and isotope labeling [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The asialoglycoprotein receptor (ASGP-R) is a C-type lectin, abundantly expressed on hepatocytes. It mediates the clearance of desialylated glycoproteins carrying terminal galactose (Gal) or N-acetyl-galactosamine (GalNAc) residues through endocytosis ...

Management of allergic rhinitis with leukotriene receptor antagonists versus selective H1-antihistamines: a meta-analysis of current evidence

open access: yesAllergy, Asthma & Clinical Immunology, 2021
Background Inconsistencies remain regarding the effectiveness and safety of leukotriene receptor antagonists (LTRAs) and selective H1-antihistamines (SAHs) for allergic rhinitis (AR).

Dimethyl fumarate combined with cisplatin at subcytotoxic doses sensitizes cervical cancer toward ferroptosis and apoptosis through GSH restriction and p53 (re)activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

ToF - The Time-of-Flight Device for H1 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1995
PhDEvent triggering for the H1 detector on the HERA electron-proton ring is dominated by background associated with the proton beam. A 99% reduction in trigger rate is achieved by time resolution of background from physics using ToF -a scintillator ...

Mutant NPM1 in Acute Myeloid Leukemia Initiation and Maintenance

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
NPM1 mutations drive acute myeloid leukemia by acting as neomorphic transcriptional regulators that cooperate with Menin–MLL and XPO1 to sustain HOX/MEIS1 expression and block differentiation. Targeting these mutant‐specific transcriptional dependencies provides a rational therapeutic strategy for NPM1‐mutated AML.

Reduction of Influenza A Virus Prevalence in Pigs at Weaning After Using Custom-Made Influenza Vaccines in the Breeding Herds of an Integrated Swine Farm System

open access: yesViruses
Vaccination is a common influenza A virus (IAV) control strategy for pigs. Vaccine efficacy depends on strain cross-protection and effective vaccination program implementation.
