Phylogeography and Biological Characterizations of H12 Influenza A Viruses

open access: yesViruses, 2022
Influenza A virus (IAV) is widespread in wild bird reservoirs. Sixteen hemagglutinin subtypes are associated with wild waterfowl hosts; some subtypes are isolated infrequently, one of which is H12 IAV.

Characterization of Avian Influenza Virus H10–H12 Subtypes Isolated from Wild Birds in Shanghai, China from 2016 to 2019

open access: yesViruses, 2020
H10, H11 and H12 (H10–H12) subtypes of the avian influenza virus (AIV) are associated with waterfowl. Although these subtypes of AIV are infrequently detected in nature, they can undergo reassortment with other AIV subtypes.

Geology of the Michelangelo quadrangle (H12), Mercury [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Maps
The Michelangelo quadrangle of Mercury (H12) encompasses the area between latitudes 22.5°S–65°S and longitudes 180°E–270°E. The quadrangle covers almost 6.5% of the planet’s surface with a total area of almost 5 million km2.

H12‐(ADP)‐liposomes for hemorrhagic shock in thrombocytopenia: Mesenteric artery injury model in rabbits

open access: yesResearch and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis, 2022
Background Damage control resuscitation improves patient outcomes after severe hemorrhage and coagulopathy. However, effective hemostasis methods for these critical situations are lacking.

Post-treatment with H12-(ADP)-liposomes after LPS challenge ameliorated coagulopathy and critical organ injury in rats [PDF]

open access: yesIntensive Care Medicine Experimental
Background Liposomes coated with fibrinogen γ-chain (HHLGGAKQAGDV, H12) peptide and encapsulating adenosine-diphosphate (ADP) [H12-(ADP)-liposomes] can augment platelet aggregation via glycoprotein IIb/IIIa receptors displayed on activated platelets. H12-

Virulence properties of Escherichia coli O111:H12 strains [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1997
Seventeen Escherichia coli O111:H12 strains isolated from the feces of children with acute diarrhea were studied with regard to their adherence properties and other virulence characteristics. All strains showed an aggregative adherence pattern to HEp-2 cells and agglutinated bovine and sheep red cells in the presence of mannose.

Where do all the subtypes go? : Temporal dynamics of H8-H12 influenza A viruses in waterfowl

open access: yesVirus Evolution, 2018
Influenza A virus (IAV) is ubiquitous in waterfowl. In the northern hemisphere IAV prevalence is highest during the autumn and coincides with a peak in viral subtype diversity.

An alternative conformation of ERβ bound to estradiol reveals H12 in a stable antagonist position [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2017
The natural ligand 17β-estradiol (E2) is so far believed to induce a unique agonist-bound active conformation in the ligand binding domain (LBD) of the estrogen receptors (ERs).
