Nutrient-Dependent Efficacy of the Antifungal Protein YvgO Correlates to Cellular Proliferation Rate in Candida albicans 3153A and Byssochlamys fulva H25 [PDF]
YvgO is a recently characterized antifungal protein isolated from Bacillus thuringiensis SF361 that exhibits a broad spectrum of activity and pH stability. Customized colorimetric metabolic assays based on standard broth microdilution techniques were used to determine the variable tolerance of Byssochlamys fulva H25 and Candida albicans 3153A to YvgO ...

Weak hydrogen bonding in the structures of three double‐acylated aminoantipyrines
The structures of three doubly‐acylated 4‐aminoantipyrine compounds where the aryl substituent is varied are reported and analysed in terms of their relative conformation, intermolecular interactions and overall packing. The compounds were crystallized using the encapsulated nanodroplet crystallization (ENaCt) protocol. The structures of three doubly ...

Brain Drain: The Mere Presence of One’s Own Smartphone Reduces Available Cognitive Capacity [PDF]
Our smartphones enable—and encourage—constant connection to information, entertainment, and each other. They put the world at our fingertips, and rarely leave our sides. Although these devices have immense potential to improve welfare, their persistent

ABSTRACT Aim The role of historical drainage connectivity and the influence of water level fluctuations in African lakes on the evolution and distribution of macroinvertebrates remain poorly understood. This is partly because evolutionary biology research has largely focused on mobile vertebrates, such as cichlids.

Abstract Ice nucleating particles (INP) capable of nucleating ice crystals via immersion freezing at temperatures above approximately −35°C may strongly influence cloud glaciation, with implications for global precipitation and climate feedback. In addition to mineral dust, soil dust, and marine organics, laboratory and field measurements suggest ...

[my]-Hydroxido-bis[(2,20-bipyridine)-tricarbonylrhenium(I)] perrhenate [PDF]
The title compound, [Re2(OH)(C10H8N2)2(CO)6][ReO4], is a mixed-valence rhenium compound containing discrete anions and cations. The ReI atoms are in a slightly distorted octahedral environment, whereas the ReVII atoms show the typical tetrahedral ...

Analytically solvable processes on networks
We introduce a broad class of analytically solvable processes on networks. In the special case, they reduce to random walk and consensus process - two most basic processes on networks.

A library of thiazolo[5,4‐c]isoquinoline (TzIQ) derivatives, including both neutral molecules and their corresponding cationic forms, was investigated. DHFR was predicted as potential target of those derivatives by a CADD approach. The most promising derivatives were predicted with molecular docking studies.

An experimental evaluation of head-up display formats [PDF]
Three types of head-up display format are investigated. Type 1 is an unreferenced (conventional) flight director, type 2 is a ground referenced flight path display, and type 3 is a ground referenced director.
