Study on the Aggregation Structure and DC Conductivity and Breakdown Characteristics of Polypropylene Insulation for HVDC Cables

open access: yesHigh Voltage, Volume 10, Issue 6, Page 1451-1463, December 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper investigates elastomer‐toughened polypropylene (PP) insulation to meet the application requirements for green noncrosslinked PP cables in high‐voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission. It focuses on the formation of β‐crystals in isotactic polypropylene (iPP) by adding a β‐nucleator.

Identifying the cellular targets of drug action in the central nervous system following corticosteroid therapy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Corticosteroid (CS) therapy is used widely in the treatment of a range of pathologies, but can delay production of myelin, the insulating sheath around central nervous system nerve fibers.

Thinking Against Humanism? Heidegger on the Human Essence, the Inhuman, and Evil

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Philosophy, Volume 33, Issue 2, Page 660-681, June 2025.
Abstract In his ‘Letter on “Humanism”’, Martin Heidegger advances a critique of humanism while insisting that this critique does not imply that he ‘advocates the inhuman’. There are two reasons why Heidegger might be concerned to rebut this accusation.

Mapping the Asymmetric Thick Disk I. A Search for Triaxiality

open access: yes, 2009
A significant asymmetry in the distribution of faint blue stars in the inner Galaxy, Quadrant 1 (l = 20 to 45 degrees) compared to Quadrant 4 was first reported by Larsen & Humphreys (1996).

2-(methylamido)pyridine–borane : a tripod κ3N,H,H-ligand in trigonal bipyramidal rhodium(I) and iridium(I) complexes with an asymmetric coordination of its BH3 group [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The complexes [M(κ3N,H,H-mapyBH3)(cod)] (M = Rh, Ir; HmapyBH3 = 2-(methylamino)pyridine–borane; cod = 1,5-cyclooctadiene), which contain a novel anionic tripod ligand coordinated to the metal atom through the amido N atom and through two H atoms of the ...

PIN1 is a novel interaction partner and a negative upstream regulator of the transcription factor NFIB

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 598, Issue 23, Page 2910-2925, December 2024.
NFI transcription factors are important regulators of embryonic development. Here, we show that PIN1 can interact with each NFI family member via their N‐terminal DBD domain. The PIN1–NFIB interaction is phosphorylation‐dependent; overexpression of PIN1 represses NFIB‐induced transcription while increasing the abundance of NFIB.
