Abstract Locally resonant metamaterials (LRMs) have been extensively investigated for wave attenuation; however, the interaction between their bandgaps and a structure's modal dynamics remains relatively unexplored. To address this gap, a design framework is presented to quantify and enhance the structural control performance enabled by LRM‐induced ...

Temperature‐dependent nanoscale ferroelectric domain evolution and the ferroelectric‐to‐paraelectric phase transition in 2D halide perovskites is visualized using piezoresponse force microscopy. The phase transition initiates locally below the Curie temperature and progressively propagates as paraelectric regions expand.

Reconstructing general plane quartics from their inflection lines [PDF]
Let $C$ be a general plane quartic and let ${\rm Fl}(C)$ denote the configuration of inflection lines of $C$. We show that if $D$ is any plane quartic with the same configuration of inflection lines ${\rm Fl}(C)$, then the quartics $C$ and $D$ coincide ...

Beta‐diketones and beta‐ketoesters were reacted with aliphatic or aromatic amines to give stable enaminones, catalyzed by either ammonium chloride or glycine hydrochloride, as inexpensive and nontoxic catalysts. The reactions were conducted under neat conditions with short work‐up, catalyst recovery and a few demonstrations of reaction telescoping to ...

A tmQCD mixed-action approach to flavour physics
We discuss a mixed-action approach in which sea quarks are regularised using non-perturbatively ${\rm O}(a)$ improved Wilson fermions, while a fully-twisted tmQCD action is used for valence quarks.

Objective Many neurodegenerative disorders share a common pathologic feature involving the deposition of abnormal tau protein in the brain (tauopathies). This suggests that there may be some shared pathophysiologic mechanism(s). The largest risk factor for the majority of these disorders is aging, suggesting involvement of the aging process in the ...

Extensive reuse of deep eutectic solvent should be ensured when applied in the Li‐ion battery recycling process. In each key step of recycling, including metal dissolution, recovery, and DES regeneration, decomposition and consumption occur, hindering DES reuse and thus undermining the feasibility of the entire recycling process. Abstract Deep eutectic
