Orbifold Reduction Of The Quark-Lepton Symmetric Model
We investigate the quark-lepton symmetric gauge group in five dimensions, with the gauge symmetry broken by a combination of orbifold compactification of the extra dimension and the Higgs mechanism.

Inhibiting NAD+-dependent DNA ligase activity with 2-(cyclopentyloxy)-5'-deoxyadenosine (CPOdA) offers a new tool for DNA replication and repair studies in the model archaeon Haloferax volcanii [PDF]
DNA ligases play an essential role in many aspects of DNA metabolism in all three domains of life. The haloarchaeal organism Haloferax volcanii encodes both ATP- and NAD+-dependent DNA ligase enzymes designated LigA and LigN, respectively.

We investigate the phylogeographic history and paleodistribution patterns of four closely related grasshopper species of the genus Sphenarium to test the relative impact of Pleistocene climate fluctuations on their diversification. We found that each species responded differently to these fluctuations, but their divergence, distribution, and ...

An Electrochemical Color-Switchable RGB Dye: Tristable [2]Catenane [PDF]
We propose a design for an electrochemically driven RGB dye based on a tristable [2]catenane, in which the color of the molecule can be switched between Red, Green, and Blue by merely changing voltage.

Inheritance and enzymatic basis of anthocyanin malonylation in Fragaria × ananassa
Significance Statement Fruits from various cultivars of the cultivated strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa) exhibit significant variation in the levels of malonylated anthocyanins, which is attributed to the differential expression of malonyltransferase genes, whose products demonstrate acceptor substrate promiscuity.

The Effect of Regioisomerism on the TADF Properties of Organic Dyes
The properties of TADF emitters are highly dependent on the chosen electron donor and acceptor, as well as the π‐system that links them together. Herein, we show that regioisomerism affects the physical properties of spirobifluorene‐based systems in solution, thin films and crystals.
