Asymptotic properties of cross‐classified sampling designs

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We investigate the family of cross‐classified sampling designs across an arbitrary number of dimensions. We introduce a variance decomposition that enables the derivation of general asymptotic properties for these designs and the development of straightforward and asymptotically unbiased variance estimators.

Inhibition of Influenza H7 Hemagglutinin-Mediated Entry

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The recent outbreak of H7N9 influenza in China is of high concern to public health. H7 hemagglutinin (HA) plays a critical role in influenza entry and thus HA presents an attractive target for antivirals. Previous studies have suggested that the small molecule tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) inhibits the entry of influenza H3 HA by binding to the stem ...

Designing Governance for ESG: Incentive and Oversight Complementarities in Corporate Sustainability Performance

open access: yesCorporate Social Responsibility and Environmental Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates how internal governance design supports credible ESG performance by distinguishing between Incentive and Oversight Architectures. Using 13,993 firm‐year observations of US nonfinancial firms from 2018 to 2024, we estimate fixed effects and two‐step system GMM models.

Survival of Escherichia coli O157:H7 in soils from Jiangsu Province, China.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Escherichia coli O157:H7 (E. coli O157:H7) is recognized as a hazardous microorganism in the environment and for public health. The E. coli O157:H7 survival dynamics were investigated in 12 representative soils from Jiangsu Province, where the largest E.

Comparative Pathogenicity of Wildlife and Bovine Escherichia coli O157:H7 Strains in Experimentally Inoculated Neonatal Jersey Calves

open access: yesVeterinary Sciences, 2018
Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli, like E. coli O157:H7, are important human and animal pathogens. Naturally-acquired E. coli O157:H7 infections occur in numerous species but, particularly, cattle have been identified as a significant reservoir for ...
