General discrepancy estimates II: the Haar function system [PDF]
H. Niederreiter has developed a powerful technique to estimate the (extreme) discrepancy \[ D_ N ({\mathcal P}) : \sup_{J \in {\mathcal J}} \left | {A(J,N) \over N} - \lambda_ s (J) \right | \] of finite rational point sets \({\mathcal P} = (x_ n)^{N-1}_{n=0}\) in the \(s\)- dimensional unit cube \([0,1[^ s\). Here \({\mathcal J}\) denotes the class of

Variants of a theorem of Macbeath in finite‐dimensional normed spaces
Abstract A classical theorem of Macbeath states that for any integers d⩾2$d \geqslant 2$, n⩾d+1$n \geqslant d+1$, d$d$‐dimensional Euclidean balls are hardest to approximate, in terms of volume difference, by inscribed convex polytopes with n$n$ vertices.

With the announcement and initial proposal for transformation of the Science System in Aotearoa, there is a generational opportunity to recognise and invest in Māori research centres as hubs of Māori research excellence. However, there is no explicit recognition of Māori research centres within this vision, despite literature consistently highlighting ...

In this article, Haar wavelet collocation method is applied for the solution of fourth-order integro-differential equations. Also, a fixed point approach is used to investigate the existence theory of solution to the considered problem.

Male courtship can serve various purposes such as species recognition, mate localization, or advertisement of individual quality and physical condition. In predatory species such as spiders, courtship activity by the male might also reduce the risk of being predated on by the female.

ABSTRACT Pastoralism worldwide faces a complex landscape of increased pressures and exclusion. Beyond ecological and economic challenges, pastoralists suffer eroding cultural identity, limited generational renewal, and political marginalization. Yet pastoral livelihoods are increasingly recognized as stewards of sustainable futures and amongst the best

Solvability of invariant systems of differential equations on H2$\mathbb {H}^2$ and beyond
Abstract We show how the Fourier transform for distributional sections of vector bundles over symmetric spaces of non‐compact type G/K$G/K$ can be used for questions of solvability of systems of invariant differential equations in analogy to Hörmander's proof of the Ehrenpreis–Malgrange theorem.

Analyzing the Free States of one Quantum Resource Theory as Resource States of Another
The article investigates how free states in one quantum resource theory can become highly resourceful in another. It systematically studies multipartite entanglement, fermionic non‐Gaussianity, imaginarity, realness, spin coherence, Clifford non‐stabilizerness, Sn‐equivariance, and non‐uniform entanglement, combining rigorous analytical tools and ...

This article encounters the use of two wavelet methods, namely the collocation method based on Haar wavelets (CMHW) and the higher-order collocation method based on Haar wavelets (HCMHW), to solve linear and nonlinear fourth-order differential equations ...

Frame potential of Brownian SYK model of Majorana and Dirac fermions
We consider the Brownian SYK, i.e. a system of N Majorana (Dirac) fermions with a white-noise q-body interaction term. We focus on the dynamics of the Frame potentials, a measure of the scrambling and chaos, given by the moments of the overlap between ...
