Determining factor in habitat selection of Paracobitis iranica (Nalbant & Bianco 1998) population in Kordan River, Namak Lake Basin, Iran [PDF]
Considering the fact that fish biodiversity conservation and land uses planning, require reliable information about fish distribution and habitat use patterns In order to describe species habitat properties, habitat use and habitat selectivity indices ...

Habitat Selection and Mating Success in a Mustelid
Habitat selection remains a poorly understood ecological process, but relating mating behaviour to pattern of habitat selection constitutes a fundamental issue both in evolutionary ecology and in biological conservation.

The Stabilizing Effect Of Intraspecific Genetic Variation On Population Dynamics In Novel And Ancestral Habitats [PDF]
Recent studies show that intraspecific genetic variation in asexual species may have large effects on community and ecosystem functions, increasing their stability, productivity, and species richness.

EMG‐Driven Telemetry and Inference System for Fish: Pose Reconstruction and Flow Sensing
This work introduces an electromyography (EMG)‐driven telemetry framework that reconstructs body pose and infers hydrodynamic conditions in freely swimming fish. A custom 16‐channel archival system records intramuscular EMG, enabling deep‐learning models to decode joint kinematics, classify flow regimes, and reveal channel‐efficient sensing strategies.

Genomic basis of ecological niche divergence among cryptic sister species of non-biting midges [PDF]
Background: There is a lack of understanding the evolutionary forces driving niche segregation of closely related organisms. In addition, pinpointing the genes driving ecological divergence is a key goal in molecular ecology.

Abstract Germany's Renewable Energy Sources Act (REA), enacted in 2000 and subsequently amended, subsidized national renewable energy production with fixed feed‐in tariffs for renewable energy sources (RE) from wind, solar, and biogas. Empirical studies suggest that the policy was creating windfall effects for landowners and attribute farmland use ...

Linking seasonal home range size with habitat selection and movement in a mountain ungulate
Background Space use by animals is determined by the interplay between movement and the environment, and is thus mediated by habitat selection, biotic interactions and intrinsic factors of moving individuals.

Habitat selection by 2 species of nectarivore: habitat quality isolines [PDF]
I present a model predicting the distribution and abundance of two species of competing nectarivore exploiting nectar in two types of flower. The model uses a submodel of resource renewal and depletion, and the principle that individuals attempt to ...

Abstract Premise We examined the African arid corridor (AAC) disjunction pattern of vascular plants between northeastern and southwestern Africa in the context of geological and climatic events since the late Miocene. We developed a phylogenetic and biogeographical framework for the arid‐adapted genus Sesamothamnus (Pedaliaceae), a classic example of ...

Understanding intraspecific variation in habitat selection by polytypic species, where distinct variants occur in separate populations, can improve our knowledge of population-specific selective pressures and inform conservation measures.
