Unveiling the Taxonomic Diversity and Unprecedented Biosynthetic Treasure of the Phylum Myxococcota

Natural products remain vital sources of therapeutics, and the phylum Myxococcota constitutes an especially rich reservoir for them. Based on decades of microbiological efforts, we present 154 new Myxococcota genomes and revise taxonomy quadrupling the number of families and genera.

Groundwater Rise Sustains the World's Largest Alpine Water System Under Global Warming

Shallow groundwater depth (SGWD) across the non‐permafrost plains of the Qinghai–Xizang Plateau decreased at averagely 0.02 m year−1, adding 31.44 Gt of freshwater storage from 2000 to 2020 and sustaining ∼53 500 km2 of alpine ecosystems. In this work, cyanobacteria‐inspired sodium alginate (SA)/Cu‐TiO2/Fe3O4 hydrogel micromotors generate and encapsulate O2 microvesicles upon light irradiation, enabling buoyancy‐mediated Z‐axis upward migration and surface enrichment at the light‐exposed water‐air surface.
