Three-layer circulation in the world deepest hadal trench. [PDF]
The Challenger Deep (CD) is the deepest known hadal trench in the world. Due to challenges in data sampling at extreme ocean depths, the Lower Circumpolar Deep Water (LCDW) transport and ocean circulation structure in the CD remain unclear. By analyzing data from an extra-deep current meter mooring array, here we find a three-layer circulation in the ...

Abstract figure legend The human placenta not only detects the presence of Pb and Cd but also carries hypoxia and inflammatory risks, which are associated with pregnancy complications. To understand the impact of these factors on the placental trophoblast, we evaluated the effect of Pb and Cd on mitochondrial function and the NLRP3 inflammasome in ...

Abstract figure legend Calciprotein particles (CPPs) are small calcium‐ and phosphate‐containing nanoaggregates associated with the development of vascular disease (CVD) in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Previously, we have shown that CPPs induce endothelial cell (EC) dysfunction, possibly contributing to CVD in CKD, but the underlying molecular ...

Cameras and carcasses: historical and current methods for using artificial food falls to study deep-water animals [PDF]
Deep-ocean animals remain poorly understood compared to their shallow-water relatives, mainly because of the great cost and difficulty involved in obtaining reliable ecological data.

Clinical trials on PARP inhibitors in urothelial carcinoma (UC) showed limited efficacy and a lack of predictive biomarkers. We propose SLFN5, SLFN11, and OAS1 as UC‐specific response predictors. We suggest Talazoparib as the better PARP inhibitor for UC than Olaparib.
