Mapping pathogenic fungi in decayed Norway spruce stands: Insights from harvester positional data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 12, Page 3114-3125, December 2024.
Our study demonstrates that Norway spruce stands display a diverse range of spatial patterns of butt rotted trees. We found that higher densities of Norway spruce trees probably facilitate the vegetative spread of pathogenic wood decay fungi, leading to clustering of decay‐affected trees.

Coccolithophore Assemblage Response to Indian Monsoon–ENSO Teleconnections During the Last Century

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 39, Issue 8, August 2024.
Abstract We present a new, annually resolved coccolithophore relative abundance record (1889–1993 CE) from a laminated marine sediment core obtained from the northeastern Arabian Sea to document assemblage variations during the last century. Our analysis revealed that ∼80% of the assemblage is composed of the coccolithophore species Gephyrocapsa ...

Males with patellofemoral pain have altered movements during step‐down and single‐leg squatting tasks compared to asymptomatic males: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract Background and Aims Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is common in males, causing reduced physical activity and chronic pain. One proposed cause of PFP is aberrant biomechanics during tasks loading the patellofemoral joint. Consistent evidence exists for females with PFP, but it is uncertain if males with PFP have altered biomechanics.

A Case of Probable Hydroxyapatite Deposition Disease (HADD) of the Hip

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medical Sciences, 2004
We describe a patient with acute calcific periarthritis in an unusual site, the ilio-femoral ligament. The clinical findings in this patient resembled those of septic arthritis. T2*-weighted images with gradient field echo clearly showed foci of low signal intensity in this region, corresponding to the calcification shown on plain radiographs, and ...
