No significant differences in postoperative clinical outcomes evolution after fresh osteochondral allograft transplantation of the knee between patients with pathological and non‐pathological scores regarding anxiety, depression, kinesiophobia and catastrophizing factors

open access: yesJournal of Experimental Orthopaedics, Volume 12, Issue 1, January 2025.
ABSTRACT Purpose The aim of this study was to determine the influence of preoperative psychological factors on clinical outcomes of fresh osteochondral allograft (FOCA) transplantation of the knee. The hypothesis was that patients with preoperative pathological scores on psychological factors would show worsen functional outcomes after FOCA ...

SGLT2 inhibitor use in the management of feline diabetes mellitus

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Volume 48, Issue S1, Page 19-30, January 2025.
Abstract Sodium‐glucose cotransporter‐2 (SGLT2) inhibitors are routinely used in the management of human type 2 diabetes and have been shown to effectively mitigate hyperglycemia and reduce the risks of cardiovascular and renal compromise. Two SGLT2 inhibitors, namely bexagliflozin and velagliflozin, were recently FDA approved for the treatment of ...

Sodium‐glucose transport protein 2 inhibitor use in the management of insulin dysregulation in ponies and horses

open access: yesJournal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Volume 48, Issue S1, Page 31-40, January 2025.
Abstract Laminitis is a common and painful condition of the equine foot and approximately 90% of cases are associated with insulin dysregulation (ID) that is a central feature of the common endocrine disorder equine metabolic syndrome (EMS) and occurs in a subset of animals with pituitary pars intermedia dysfunction.

Mapping pathogenic fungi in decayed Norway spruce stands: Insights from harvester positional data

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 61, Issue 12, Page 3114-3125, December 2024.
Our study demonstrates that Norway spruce stands display a diverse range of spatial patterns of butt rotted trees. We found that higher densities of Norway spruce trees probably facilitate the vegetative spread of pathogenic wood decay fungi, leading to clustering of decay‐affected trees.

Coccolithophore Assemblage Response to Indian Monsoon–ENSO Teleconnections During the Last Century

open access: yesPaleoceanography and Paleoclimatology, Volume 39, Issue 8, August 2024.
Abstract We present a new, annually resolved coccolithophore relative abundance record (1889–1993 CE) from a laminated marine sediment core obtained from the northeastern Arabian Sea to document assemblage variations during the last century. Our analysis revealed that ∼80% of the assemblage is composed of the coccolithophore species Gephyrocapsa ...

Males with patellofemoral pain have altered movements during step‐down and single‐leg squatting tasks compared to asymptomatic males: A cross‐sectional study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract Background and Aims Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is common in males, causing reduced physical activity and chronic pain. One proposed cause of PFP is aberrant biomechanics during tasks loading the patellofemoral joint. Consistent evidence exists for females with PFP, but it is uncertain if males with PFP have altered biomechanics.
