The Optical Potential on the Lattice [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The extraction of hadron-hadron scattering parameters from lattice data by using the L\"uscher approach becomes increasingly complicated in the presence of inelastic channels.

Coherent multiple scattering effect in DIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a QCD calculation of the coherent multiple scattering effect on single hadron production in semi-inclusive lepton-nucleus deep inelastic scattering (DIS).

Search for a light charged Higgs boson in t → H ± b decays, with H ± → cb, in the lepton+jets final state in proton-proton collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
A search for a charged Higgs boson, H ± , produced in top-quark decays, t → H ± b, is presented. The search targets H ± decays into a bottom and a charm quark, H ± → cb. The analysis focuses on a selection enriched in top-quark pair production, where one

On the role of longitudinal momenta in high energy hadron-hadron scattering [PDF]

open access: yesOpen Physics, 2012
Abstract We demonstrate a new method to calculate inelastic scattering cross-sections, which in contrary to the Regge-based methods takes into account the energy momentum conservation law. It is shown that the main contribution to integral expressing inelastic scattering cross-sections does not come from the multi-Regge domain.

Two-Photon Exclusive Processes in QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Exclusive two-photon reactions such as Compton scattering at large angles, deeply virtual Compton scattering, and hadron production in photon-photon collisions provide important tests of QCD at the amplitude level, particularly as measures of hadron ...

Inclusive hadron-hadron scattering in the Feynman gauge

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 1985
Abstract We analyze the structure of high-energy inclusive hadron-hadron scattering in the Feynman gauge. We show that final-state interactions cancel on a graph-by-graph basis after a sum over final states. We go on to show that the leading high-energy behavior of disconnected parton scatterings in the Feynman gauge is the same as in physical gauges,

2-Dimensional Dipolar Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. A 80, 052702 (2009), 2009
We characterize the long range dipolar scattering in 2-dimensions. We use the analytic zero energy wavefunction including the dipolar interaction; this solution yields universal dipolar scattering properties in the threshold regime. We also study the semi-classical dipolar scattering and find universal dipolar scattering for this energy regime.

Silica Raman scattering probe for absolute calibration of Thomson scattering spectrometers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
We have developed a solid state probe for an absolute irradiance calibration of the Thomson scattering system on the Large Plasma Device (LAPD), based on Raman scattering off silica. Measurements performed with a triple-grating spectrometer have investigated the intensities of a pulsed laser beam Raman scattered off crystalline and amorphous silica ...

Do corners always scatter? [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications in Mathematical Physics, 331, 2 (2014), 725--753, 2012
We study time harmonic scattering for the Helmholtz equation in Rn. We show that certain penetrable scatterers with rectangular corners scatter every incident wave nontrivially. Even though these scatterers have interior transmission eigenvalues, the relative scattering (a.k.a.
