Maximally entangled proton and charged hadron multiplicity in Deep Inelastic Scattering [PDF]

open access: yesThe European Physical Journal C, 2022
We study the proposal by Kharzeev–Levin to determine entanglement entropy in Deep Inelastic Scattering (DIS) from parton distribution functions (PDFs) and to relate the former to the entropy of final state hadrons.

Polarization Effects In Hadron-Hadron Scatterings

open access: yesCumhuriyet Science Journal, 2018
In the case of diffraction scattering of hadrons by hadrons, a nonzero polarization of the scattered particles arises, which is related to the logarithmic derivative of the differential scattering cross section. Polarization changes sign in those reactions whose angular distributions contain the second diffraction maximum.

Like-Sign W Boson Production at the LHC as a Probe of Double Parton Scattering [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Double parton scattering, i.e. two parton hard scattering processes in the same hadron-hadron collision, may constitute an important background for Higgs and other new particle searches at the LHC. We point out that like-sign W pair production provides a

Two-Photon Exclusive Processes in QCD [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Exclusive two-photon reactions such as Compton scattering at large angles, deeply virtual Compton scattering, and hadron production in photon-photon collisions provide important tests of QCD at the amplitude level, particularly as measures of hadron ...

Inclusive-photon production and its dependence on photon isolation in pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV using 139 fb −1 of ATLAS data

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
Measurements of differential cross sections are presented for inclusive isolated-photon production in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV provided by the LHC and using 139 fb −1 of data recorded by the ATLAS experiment.

Hadron and light nucleus radii from electron scattering [PDF]

open access: yesChinese Physics C, High Energy Physics & Nuclear Physics, 2022
Conceptually, radii are amongst the simplest Poincaré-invariant properties that can be associated with hadrons and light nuclei. Accurate values of these quantities are necessary so that one may judge the character of putative solutions to the strong ...

A comparative analysis of GEANT4, MCNP6 and FLUKA on proton-induced gamma-ray simulation. [PDF]

open access: yesMed Phys
Abstract Background Precise range verification is essential in proton therapy to minimize treatment margins due to the steep dose fall‐off of proton beams. The emission of secondary radiation from nuclear reactions between incident particles and tissues stands out as a promising method for range verification. Two prominent techniques are PET and Prompt

Coherent multiple scattering effect in DIS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We present a QCD calculation of the coherent multiple scattering effect on single hadron production in semi-inclusive lepton-nucleus deep inelastic scattering (DIS).

Inclusive and multiplicity dependent production of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in pp and p-Pb collisions

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
Measurements of the production of electrons from heavy-flavour hadron decays in pp collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV at midrapidity with the ALICE detector are presented down to a transverse momentum (p T) of 0.2 GeV/c and up to p T = 35 GeV/c ...

Search for a light charged Higgs boson in t → H ± b decays, with H ± → cb, in the lepton+jets final state in proton-proton collisions at s $$ \sqrt{s} $$ = 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
A search for a charged Higgs boson, H ± , produced in top-quark decays, t → H ± b, is presented. The search targets H ± decays into a bottom and a charm quark, H ± → cb. The analysis focuses on a selection enriched in top-quark pair production, where one
