Stress-rupture strength and microstructural stability of W-HF-C wire reinforced superalloy composites [PDF]

open access: yes
W-Hf-C/superalloy composites were found to be potentially useful for turbine blade applications on the basis of stress-rupture strength. The 100-and 1000-hour rupture strengths obtained for 70 volume percent fiber composites tested at 1090 C were 420 and

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Investigation of Hf/Ti bilayers for the development of transition-edge sensor microcalorimeters

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Nanotechnology
The superconducting properties of 85 nm thick hafnium thin films with a 5 nm thick titanium layer on top have been investigated for three different geometries, that is, a film covering the entire 7 × 7 mm2 chip surface, bridges with a width of 200 μm and

A Mechanistic Blueprint for Fast, High‐Yield Green Scintillators Using Conjugated Polymer–Nanocrystal Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Conjugated polymer–nanocrystal composites are investigated to develop fast, high‐yield green scintillators. The polymer F8BT enables efficient, ultrafast emission, while blends with non‐emitting HfO2 nanocrystals and luminescent CdZnS/ZnS quantum dots reveal distinct sensitization mechanisms.

Ion Exchange Column Performance Model for Separation of Zr(IV) and Hf(IV) in Elution Process [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering, 2007
A mathematical model of sorption of Zirconium and Hafnium cations mixture and elution of these ions from a cation exchange resin bed is developed. Sulfuric acid is selected as the eluent for selective separation of Zr and Hf in a packed bed of Dowex ...
