Triggering of 178Hfm2 by photoinduced electron transition [PDF]

open access: yesЯдерна фізика та енергетика, 2013
We considered the NEET (nuclear excitation by electron transition) as a possible triggering mechanism of the isomer 178Hfm2 during ionization of the L3 atomic shell by x-rays.

Hafnium germanium telluride [PDF]

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E Structure Reports Online, 2008
The title hafnium germanium telluride, HfGeTe(4), has been synthesized by the use of a halide flux and structurally characterized by X-ray diffraction. HfGeTe(4) is isostructural with stoichiometric ZrGeTe(4) and the Hf site in this compound is also fully occupied.

Synthesis of zirconium(IV) and hafnium(IV) isopropoxide, sec-butoxide and tert-butoxide [PDF]

open access: yes
We revisited the synthesis of zirconium(IV) and hafnium(IV) alkoxides, namely the metal isopropoxide isopropanol complex (M(OiPr)4.iPrOH, M = Zr, Hf) and the metal sec- and tert-butoxide (M(OsBu)4 and M(OtBu)4, M = Zr, Hf).

Hafnium carbide formation in oxygen deficient hafnium oxide thin films [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
On highly oxygen deficient thin films of hafnium oxide (hafnia, HfO2− x) contaminated with adsorbates of carbon oxides, the formation of hafnium carbide (HfCx) at the surface during vacuum annealing at temperatures as low as 600 °C is reported.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Selective Hydrolysis of Ovalbumin Promoted by Hf(IV)-Substituted Wells-Dawson-Type Polyoxometalate

open access: yesFrontiers in Chemistry, 2018
The reactivity and selectivity of Wells-Dawson type polyoxometalate (POM), K16[Hf(α2-P2W17O61)2]·19H2O (Hf1-WD2), have been examined with respect to the hydrolysis of ovalbumin (OVA), a storage protein consisting of 385 amino acids.

Apatite formation on electrochemically modified surface of hafnium metal in simulated body environment

open access: yesJournal of Asian Ceramic Societies, 2022
Biomedical application of Hf for hard tissue repair may be expanded if it can be imparted with bone-bonding ability. Apatite formation in the body is required for artificial materials to bond to bone. We have shown that apatite can form on NaOH- and heat-

Understanding the Stochastic Nature of Process Parameter Development of Blown Powder Laser Beam Directed Energy Deposition Additive Manufacturing of Pure Molybdenum

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the
