Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Linear Trimeric Hafnium Clusters in Hf0.86(1)I3

open access: yesCrystals, 2011
The reduction of hafnium tetraiodide, HfI4, with aluminum at 600 °C or 850 °C in the presence of a NaI flux resulted in black single crystals of Hf0.86(1)I3.

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Photocatalytic Versus Stoichiometric Hydrogen Generation Using Mesoporous Silicon Catalysts: The Complex Role of Sacrificial Reagents

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study highlights the importance of accounting for stoichiometric hydrogen produced when utilizing Si photocatalysts. The stoichiometric contribution is sacrificial reagent dependent and decreases with increasing sterics around the catalyst surface.

Effect of crystallinity on thermal atomic layer etching of hafnium oxide, zirconium oxide, and hafnium zirconium oxide

open access: yesJournal of Vacuum Science and Technology, 2020
Thermal atomic layer etching (ALE) can be achieved using sequential, self-limiting fluorination and ligand-exchange reactions. Previous studies have demonstrated thermal ALE of amorphous HfO2 and ZrO2 ALD films.

Stabilizing Cationic Palladium Single‐Atom Sites on Heteroatom‐Doped Carbon for Selective Hydrogen Peroxide Electrosynthesis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this research, it is demonstrated that dual nitrogen and sulfur doping in hollow carbon spheres creates a tunable coordination environment that stabilizes cationic Pd single atoms as robust organometallic complexes, enabling high selectivity and stability for electrochemical hydrogen peroxide production under harsh acidic and peroxide‐rich ...

High‐Entropy Perovskite Nanofibers for Bifunctional Air Electrodes in Reversible Protonic Ceramic Electrochemical Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy perovskite nanofibers serve as robust and active bifunctional air electrodes in reversible protonic ceramic electrochemical cells. Their compositional complexity stabilizes the lattice, enriches oxygen vacancies, and accelerates surface exchange.
