The Observation of Hailstorms [PDF]
IN the most casual survey of the literature relating to the phenomenon of hail one cannot fail to be struck with the remarkable contradictions which everywhere make themselves apparent. Some writers say that hail falls oftenest in the tropics; others assert that it is altogether unknown there!

Insights from hailstorm track analysis in European climate change simulations [PDF]
Hailstorms are among the most destructive weather events, posing significant threats to infrastructure, agriculture, and human life. This study applies hailstorm-tracking diagnostics to kilometer-scale, decade-long climate simulations over Europe using ...

St Sava and the cloud-chasers [PDF]
A gloss in the Nomocanon of St Sava condemns folk superstitions related to magically provoking hailstorms and eclipses. St Sava’s miracle with the king of Hungary as described in his Vitae seems to go back to the same complex of popular beliefs.

Trends in thunderstorm days, lightning activity, squalls and the environmental factors in Hong Kong
This study analyses trends in Hong Kong's convective weather using long‐term observer‐based and shorter‐term instrument‐based data. Annual thunderstorm days increased significantly by 1.9 days decade−1 in 1947–2024, notably in June–September, consistent with increasingly favourable warm‐season environments for thunderstorms.
