Zinc‐Coordinated Trienzyme Nanogel Cascade Therapy for Accelerated Post‐Pancreatectomy Cutaneous Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A zinc‐coordinated nanogel assembly is reported that co‐delivers three enzymes to regulate glucose, oxidative stress, and oxygen levels. This system mimics natural enzyme cascades to reprogram the wound environment after pancreatectomy. In a post‐pancreatectomy mouse model, it accelerates healing by reducing infection, promoting blood vessel growth ...

Vertex Accentuation in Female Pattern Hair Loss in Asians

open access: yesSiriraj Medical Journal, 2016
Background: The most common cause of hair loss seen in women is female pattern hair loss (FPHL), also known as female androgenetic alopecia. It affects the central part of the scalp, but spares the frontal hairline.

Biological and Biologically Inspired Functional Nanostructures: Insights into Structural, Optical, Thermal, and Sensing Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Biological and biologically‐inspired functional nanostructures with structural, thermal, optical, and sensing applications are reviewed. The role of nanoscale features in biological materials on performance is described, and their blueprints are used for bio‐inspired nanomaterials, synthesized using advanced techniques (i.e., photolithography, bio ...

Peptide Amphiphiles Hitchhike on Endogenous Biomolecules for Enhanced Cancer Imaging and Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Weakly assembled peptide amphiphile nanostructures disassemble in circulation and reassemble with blood biomolecules, mainly lipoproteins. Binding to blood biomolecules prolongs blood circulation and improves accumulation in solid tumors. In the tumor microenvironment, peptide amphiphiles assemble with cholesterol‐rich domains of cell membranes ...

The First Review on Nano‐Agricultural Applications of MXene and MBene‐Based Materials for Plant‐Immunoengineering, Controlled Protection, and Inducing Biostimulation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
MXene and MBene nanomaterials show significant potential in addressing critical challenges in biomedicine, applied biology, agriculture, and the environment. From a nano‐agricultural perspective, this relatively young field has witnessed emerging advances towards applications for plant‐immunoengineering, biostimulation, and controlled delivery ...

Autonomous Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An ideal implant should mimic native tissues such that it can integrate, sense, heal, and continue to function, i.e., be autonomous. Although early, there are good steps taken in this way, e.g., the development of stimuli‐responsive, self‐powering, self‐actuating, self‐healing, self‐regenerating, and self‐aware implants.
