The Cyclic Antimicrobial Peptide C-LR18 Has Enhanced Antibacterial Activity, Improved Stability, and a Longer Half-Life Compared to the Original Peptide

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background: LR18 is an α₋helical AMP with high antimicrobial activity, low hemolytic activity, and low cytotoxicity. However, the susceptibility to degradation of the peptidase enzyme and a short half-life hinder its application as a therapeutic agent ...

Is There Any Regional Price Disparity in Peninsular Malaysia? [PDF]

open access: yesRomanian Review of Regional Studies, 2015
This study examines whether there are significant differences in prices across four regions in Peninsular Malaysia, namely Northern, Central, Southern, and Eastern Peninsular Malaysia. Disaggregate monthly consumer price indices for twelve types of goods

Human FcRn Tissue Expression Profile and Half-Life in PBMCs

open access: yesBiomolecules, 2019
System-wide quantitative characterization of human neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn) properties is critical for understanding and predicting human PK (pharmacokinetics) as well as the distribution of mAbs and Fc-fusion proteins using PBPK (physiologically ...

Quantifying the half-life of deviations from PPP: The role of economic priors [PDF]

open access: yes
The half-life of deviations from purchasing power parity (PPP) plays a central role in the ongoing debate about the ability of macroeconomic models to account for the time series behavior of the real exchange rate.

Precision half-life measurement of the 4-fold forbidden electron capture of V-50

open access: yes, 2011
A sensitive search of the 4-fold forbidden non-unique beta decay of V-50 has been performed. A total exposure of 185.8 kg x d has been accumulated. A reliable half-life value with the highest precision so far of $(2.29 \pm 0.25) \cdot 10^{17}$ years of ...

Microglial dynamics and ferroptosis induction in human iPSC‐derived neuron–astrocyte–microglia tri‐cultures

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
A tri‐culture of iPSC‐derived neurons, astrocytes, and microglia treated with ferroptosis inducers as an Induced ferroptosis model was characterized by scRNA‐seq, cell survival, and cytokine release assays. This analysis revealed diverse microglial transcriptomic changes, indicating that the system captures key aspects of the complex cellular ...

Measurement of double beta decay of 100Mo to excited states in the NEMO 3 experiment

open access: yes, 2006
The double beta decay of 100Mo to the 0^+_1 and 2^+_1 excited states of 100Ru is studied using the NEMO 3 data. After the analysis of 8024 h of data the half-life for the two-neutrino double beta decay of 100Mo to the excited 0^+_1 state is measured to ...

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Meta‐analysis fails to show any correlation between protein abundance and ubiquitination changes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We analyzed over 50 published proteomics datasets to explore the relationship between protein levels and ubiquitination changes across multiple experimental conditions and biological systems. Although ubiquitination is often associated with protein degradation, our analysis shows that changes in ubiquitination do not globally correlate with changes in ...
