Extending and modifying the Hall rule

Chemical Physics Letters, 2006
Abstract The Hall rule claims that the HMO total π-electron energy (E) of isomeric benzenoid hydrocarbons is a linear function of the number of Kekule structures (K). We now show that already in the case of benzenoid isomers with a small number of hexagons (4 ⩽ h ⩽ 9), E is better reproduced by a linear function of Kλ, where the exponent λ is ...

Spin statistics connection and selection rule in the quantum Hall effect

Journal of Physics C: Solid State Physics, 1985
The selection rule in the quantum Hall effect is derived from the generalised spin statistics connection. For a two-dimensional fermion system, a necessary condition to have the quantum Hall effect at a filling factor v=p/q (p and q are mutual primes) is exp(ipq pi )=exp(ip2 pi ); hence q must be an odd integer.

The Kohler Rule of Hall Coefficient in Neutron‐Irradiated Aluminium at 4.6 °K

Physica Status Solidi (B): Basic Research, 1970
AbstractAn investigation is made of the range of validity of the Kohler rule for the Hall coefficient of aluminium at 4.6 °K, by introducing structural defects with different concentration and configuration by low temperature reactor irradiation and subsequent annealing.

Experiments on the magnetoresistivity and hall effect in Ni and Ni alloys. The validity of Kohler's rule

Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids, 1967
Abstract The low temperature transverse magnetoresistivity and Hall resistivity in three high purity polycrystalline Ni samples and three very dilute Ni based alloys (Ni-Fe, Ni-Co and Ni-Cu) were measured. The results are reported on Kohler diagrams.
