Resource reallocation across successive systemic innovations: How Rolls‐Royce shaped the evolution of the turbojet, turboprop, and turbofan

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research Summary Despite the importance of resource reallocation in shaping a variety of strategic outcomes, strategy scholars have paid only limited attention to the processes by which firms reallocate their resources across successive systemic innovations.

The technological uniqueness paradox

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Research summary We establish a new paradox surrounding technological uniqueness, defined as the degree to which a firm's patented technology portfolio differs from its competitors. On the one hand, technological uniqueness acts as a barrier to incoming technology spillovers and impedes firm performance.

Untangling the Mechanisms in Magneto‐Electrocatalytic Oxygen Evolution

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Magnetic fields can enhance the oxygen evolution reaction in electrocatalytic water‐splitting for green‐H2. Yet, commercialization cannot be realized until the underlying magneto‐electric mechanisms are understood. This work uses reactor orientation to untangle these mechanisms. Lorentz force is shown to control metallic plates, while spin‐polarization

System Design Considerations for Magneto‐Electrocatalysis of the Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Electrocatalytic water‐splitting can be controlled using a magnetic field. The commercial prospects are exciting, but the progress is stuck in the fundamental stage of research. Progress is stagnated by publications with conflicting results, incomplete analysis, and inconsistent experimental setups.

Engineering Grain Architecture in Epitaxial Aluminum on Miscut Substrates Toward Various Clean Limits and Giant Superconductivity Modulation

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The miscut substrate strategy offers a novel means to engineer aluminum surface roughness, grain architecture, crystallinity, and both normal and superconducting transport properties toward their clean limits by precisely tuning the miscut angle without altering growth conditions.

Reorientation‐Driven Degradation in Oriented Perovskite Films: Shifting Facet Engineering to Thermodynamic Stability

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The role of crystallographic orientation in the thermal stability of narrow‐bandgap perovskite solar cells remains largely underexplored. In Sn–Pb mixed perovskite films, strong orientation can inherently compromise stability under prolonged thermal stress, triggering reorientation‐induced degradation through microstrain accumulation.
