Detection of anti-desmocollins I and II autoantibodies in two cases of Hallopeau type pemphigus vegetans by immunoblot analysis

Journal of Dermatological Science, 1994
Pemphigus foliaceus (PF) sera react with a 150 kDa antigen, desmoglein (DG), while pemphigus vulgaris (PV) sera react with a 130 kDa PV antigen. Recent molecular cloning studies have revealed that both DG and PV antigen are members of the cadherin family of cell adhesion molecules and that PV antigen shows very high homology to DG.

Ultrastructural studies in epidermolysis bullosa hereditaria

Archives of Dermatological Research, 1976
Ultrastructural examination was performed in 42 biopsy specimens from 22 patients with the Hallopeau-Siemens types or with the inverse type of epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica recessiva. The patient group consists of 8 cases of the localized Hallopeua-Siemens type, 9 of the generalized Hallopeau-Siemens type and 5 of the inverse type.

[Pemphigus vegetans of the Hallopeau type. Detection of pemphigus antibodies with direct and indirect immunofluorescence].

Der Hautarzt; Zeitschrift fur Dermatologie, Venerologie, und verwandte Gebiete, 1987
We report the case of a 25-year-old woman with bullous lesions diagnosed as the rare pustular type of pemphigus described by Hallopeau. Direct immunofluorescence studies revealed deposits of IgG and C3 in the intercellular spaces of the epidermis; the indirect immunofluorescence technique revealed circulating antiepithelial IgG antibodies.

[Phenytoin therapy in recessive dystrophic epidermolyses (epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica type Hallopeau-Siemens and epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica inversa)].

Zeitschrift fur Hautkrankheiten, 1983
In epidermolysis bullosa dystrophica recessiva Hallopeau-Siemens, blister formation is due to an excessive synthesis and secretion of a genetically altered collagenase which, under mechanical trauma, becomes activated out of its pro-enzyme and leads to the destruction of collagen in the papillary dermis. There is evidence that phenytoin can inhibit the
