A Modular Synthesis of C5‐Sulfenyl Thiazoles via an Intermolecular Pummerer Rearrangement: An Underexplored Scaffold for Medicinal Chemistry

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Modular access to underexplored C5‐sulfenyl thiazoles via an intermolecular Pummerer rearrangement is reported. The methodology exhibits a broad functional group tolerance enabling the seamless design of trisubstituted thiazole cores bearing a sulfur handle for further elaboration.

Interaction Hierarchy and Polymorphic Structure–Property Dynamics in Luminescent Molecular Crystals

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Competing homotypic and heterotypic intermolecular interactions give rise to polymorphic structure–property dynamics in luminescent molecular crystals. Thermal and mechanical stimuli induce distinct phase‐transition pathways accompanied by pronounced photoluminescence changes.

Bond Length as a Unified Descriptor for Stable Iodine Battery

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Charge transfer induced by the interactions between iodine and ligands leads to the elongation of the I–I bond. This resulting bond length correlates directly with coordination strength, serving as a unified descriptor for the rational design of both cathode hosts and electrolyte components.

Anomeric Amide Enabled Divergent Synthesis of Unsymmetrical Ureas, Carbamates, Thioesters, and Amides From Aldehydes

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
An anomeric amide‐enabled divergent aldehyde functionalization sequence provides one‐pot access to unsymmetrical ureas, carbamates, thiocarbamates, thioesters, and amides. Key to this transformation is the formation of N‐Boc‐hydroxamate intermediates, which serve as platforms for orthogonal activation via Lossen‐type rearrangements, single‐electron ...

Color‐Center‐Driven Inorganic Photochromic Materials: Mechanisms, Classifications and Property Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research, EarlyView.
This review explores color‐center‐mediated photochromism in inorganic materials and elaborates on defect‐originated photochromic fundamentals. It categorizes typical material systems by three core color‐center sources, including oxygen vacancies, non‐oxygen anion‐related defects, and cation‐related defects and summarizes feasible defect engineering ...

Integrating One Health to Mitigate the Emergence and Spread of Antimicrobial Resistance in Livestock and Aquaculture

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is an escalating global threat driven by antimicrobial use in aquaculture and livestock. Resistant pathogens and genes can spread across humans, animals, and the environment through interconnected ecosystems. Using a One Health approach, this review emphasizes antimicrobial stewardship, regulatory strengthening, enhanced ...

The roles of side chains in Y6‐series non‐fullerene acceptors for high‐performance organic solar cells

open access: yesBulletin of the Korean Chemical Society, EarlyView.
The development of organic solar cells (OSCs) has been driven by structural modifications of Y6‐series non‐fullerene acceptors. In particular, side‐chain engineering regulates solubility, molecular packing, and energy levels, enabling efficiencies to increase from 15.7% to over 20%.
