In this manuscript we contribute a revision of Cyanoprokaryotes Nostocales in the Gulf of Mexico and the Mexican Caribbean; the list of species was updated taxonomically. Also, the historical analysis of their taxonomy was carried out. ABSTRACT Cyanoprokaryotes are organisms that perform oxygenic photosynthesis.

Can Metagenomic Analyses Be Used Effectively in Safe Food Production?
This graphical abstract illustrates the metagenomic workflow applied in food safety. It outlines the process from microbial detection in food matrices to genome‐level identification via next‐generation sequencing (NGS). The visualization emphasizes the integration of modern sequencing technologies to assess foodborne pathogens and microbial communities

Regulation of osmoadaptation in the moderate halophile Halobacillus halophilus : chloride, glutamate and switching osmolyte strategies [PDF]
The moderate halophile Halobacillus halophilus is the paradigm for chloride dependent growth in prokaryotes. Recent experiments shed light on the molecular basis of the chloride dependence that is reviewed here.

Osmoregulation in the Halotolerant Alga Asteromonas gracilis [PDF]
Asteromonas gracilis, a green wall-less halotolerant alga, grows on salt concentrations from 0.5 molar NaCl (seawater) to saturation (4.5 molar NaCl). The specific growth rate was maximal at concentrations between 0.5 and 2.5 molar and only gradually decreased above 2.5 molar.

Multimodular carbohydrate‐active enzymes often combine different catalytic activities for efficient polysaccharide degradation. In this work, the structural and functional characterization of three multimodular xylan‐targeting esterases, Fl6, Fll1 and Fll4 from Flavimarina sp. Hel_I_48, are presented.

Diversity and biosynthesis of compatible solutes in hyper/thermophiles [PDF]
The accumulation of compatible solutes, either by uptake from the medium or by de novo synthesis, is a general response of microorganisms to osmotic stress. The diversity of compatible solutes is large but falls into a few major chemical categories, such
