Design and Prototyping of Topology‐Optimized, Additively Manufactured Lightweight Components for Space Robotic Systems: A Case Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The results demonstrate a simulation‐driven workflow that applies LSB topology optimization with additive manufacturing constraints to mission‐specific load cases, integrating European Cooperation for Space Standardization compliant verification and manufacturability to develop structurally efficient rover suspension components.

Automated Coastal Ice Mapping with SAR Can Inform Winter Fish Ecology in the Laurentian Great Lakes

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Remote Sensing, 2022
Many freshwater lakes in the temperate zone undergo annual freeze-thaw cycles. Climate change has disrupted these patterns and altered habitat for many species including ecologically, economically, and culturally valuable fish species.

Powers of tight Hamilton cycles in randomly perturbed hypergraphs [PDF]

open access: yesRandom Struct. Algorithms, 2018
For k ≥ 2 and r ≥ 1 such that k + r ≥ 4, we prove that, for any α > 0, there exists ε > 0 such that the union of an n‐vertex k‐graph with minimum codegree 1−k+r−2k−1−1+αn and a binomial random k‐graph G(k)(n,p) with p≥n−k+r−2k−1−1−ε on the same vertex ...

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Eco-evolutionary feedback and the invasion of cooperation in prisoner's dilemma games. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Unveiling the origin and forms of cooperation in nature poses profound challenges in evolutionary ecology. The prisoner's dilemma game is an important metaphor for studying the evolution of cooperation.

Hamilton cycles in primitive vertex-transitive graphs of order a product of two primes - the case PSL(2, q2) acting on cosets of PGL(2, q)

open access: yesArs Math. Contemp., 2020
A step forward is made in a long standing Lovasz problem regarding hamiltonicity of vertex-transitive graphs by showing that every connected vertex-transitive graph of order a product of two primes arising from the group action of the projective special ...

Amorphous High Entropy Alloy Nanosheets Enabling Robust Li–S Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Amorphous ultrathin FeCoNiMoW high entropy alloy nanosheets are incorporated into the polypropylene separator of lithium‐sulfur batteries, enhancing their capacity, rate performance, and cycling stability. Abstract High‐entropy alloys (HEAs) show great potential for catalyzing complex multi‐step reactions, but optimizing their parameters, i.e ...

Hamilton $\ell$-Cycles in Randomly Perturbed Hypergraphs [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2018
We prove that for integers $2 \leqslant \ell < k$ and a small constant $c$, if a $k$-uniform hypergraph with linear minimum codegree is randomly 'perturbed' by changing non-edges to edges independently at random with probability $p \geqslant O(n^{-(k-\ell)-c})$, then with high probability the resulting $k$-uniform hypergraph contains a Hamilton ...

Design of Sodium Chalcohalide Solid Electrolytes with Mixed Anions for All‐Solid‐State Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A novel family of sodium hafnium chalcohalide SSEs is designed with dual‐anion frameworks. Compared to the halide SSEs, the mixed anion chalcohalide framework exhibits a more compact morphology, improved thermal and mechanical properties, and enhanced electrochemical performance with different cathode materials.

Timing and Business Cycle Analysis in OPEC Member Countries Through Markov Switching Autoregressive Model [PDF]

open access: yesPizhūhishnāmah-i Iqtiṣād-i Inirzhī-i Īrān, 2012
There are two approaches for timing business cycles, namely "growth cycle" and "classical cycle". Though different, these approaches are complementary.
