Non-Canonical, Somatic-Dependent Vertical Transmission of Wolbachia in an Aphid. [PDF]

open access: yesEnviron Microbiol Rep
We discovered a novel somatic‐associated Wolbachia transmission strategy in cedar bark aphids (Cinara cedri), contrasting with its typical maternal vertical transmission. This unique maternally retained somatic re‐acquisition strategy—a “piggybacking” on the highly efficient obligate symbiont transmission pathway—reveals diverse endosymbiont strategies

Nonparametric models for Hammerstein-Wiener and Wiener-Hammerstein system identification

open access: yesIFAC-PapersOnLine, 2020
Abstract We propose a framework for modeling structured nonlinear systems using nonpara-metric Gaussian processes. In particular, we introduce a two-layer stochastic model of latent interconnected Gaussian processes suitable for modeling Hammerstein-Wiener and Wiener-Hammerstein cascades.

A Unified Approach for the Identification of Wiener, Hammerstein, and Wiener–Hammerstein Models by Using WH-EA and Multistep Signals

open access: yesComplexity, 2020
Wiener, Hammerstein, and Wiener–Hammerstein structures are useful for modelling dynamic systems that exhibit a static type nonlinearity. Many methods to identify these systems can be found in the literature; however, choosing a method requires prior ...

Decoupled Parameter Estimation Methods for Hammerstein Systems by Using Filtering Technique

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2018
The implementation of parameter estimation of Hammerstein systems is much difficult due to the existing parameter products from the nonlinear block and the linear block. This paper directly decomposes the parameter coupling between the nonlinear part and

Fuzzy Hammerstein Model of Nonlinear Plant

open access: yesNonlinear Analysis, 2008
This paper presents the synthesis and analysis of the enhanced predictive fuzzy Hammerstein model of the water tank system. Fuzzy Hammerstein model was compared with three other fuzzy models: the first was synthesized using Mamdani type rule base, the ...

An Adaptive Nonlinear Filter for System Identification

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2009
The primary difficulty in the identification of Hammerstein nonlinear systems (a static memoryless nonlinear system in series with a dynamic linear system) is that the output of the nonlinear system (input to the linear system) is unknown.

Identification of Dual-Rate Sampled Hammerstein Systems with a Piecewise-Linear Nonlinearity Using the Key Variable Separation Technique

open access: yesAlgorithms, 2015
The identification difficulties for a dual-rate Hammerstein system lie in two aspects. First, the identification model of the system contains the products of the parameters of the nonlinear block and the linear block, and a standard least squares method ...

Instrumental Variable-Based OMP Identification Algorithm for Hammerstein Systems

open access: yesComplexity, 2018
Hammerstein systems are formed by a static nonlinear block followed by a dynamic linear block. To solve the parameterizing difficulty caused by parameter coupling between the nonlinear part and the linear part in a Hammerstein system, an instrumental ...

Identification of Nonparametric Nonlinear Systems [PDF]

open access: yesITM Web of Conferences, 2019
Presently, a modelling and identification of nonlinear systems is proposed. This study is developed based on spectral approach. The proposed nonlinear system is nonparametric and can be described by Hammerstein models.
