Reduced fecundity associated with Wolbachia infection in a Neotropical drosophilid Redução da fecundidade associada à infecção por Wolbachia em um drosofilídeo Neotropical

open access: yesEcological Entomology, Volume 51, Issue 3, Page 475-488, June 2026.
Using multiple infected and uninfected Drosophila sturtevanti lines, we investigated (i) the impact of Wolbachia on fecundity and (ii) its effects relative to antibiotic treatment. Based on over 1680 dissected ovaries, fecundity was similar between infected and uninfected flies.

Solving Integral Equations via Fixed Point Results Involving Rational-Type Inequalities

open access: yesAxioms, 2023
In this study, we establish unique and common fixed point results in the context of a complete complex-valued b-metric space using rational-type inequalities.

Assemblage organization over time prevents invasion success in phytoplankton

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 5, May 2026.
Abstract Invasion plays a central role in long‐term species coexistence, sometimes rejuvenating diversity and, at other times, collapsing it. Community resistance to invasions depends partly on species richness and structure, both of which change with community organization over time.

LSSVML Hammerstein Identification and Nonlinear Model-Based Controller Paradigms for a Real-Time pH Neutralization Process [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Chemistry & Chemical Engineering
pH neutralization is a highly nonlinear and complex process in chemical reactors. The pH of untreated industrial wastewater affects product quality, soil, and water.

Molecular Phylogeny and Strain Genotyping of the Bacterial Endosymbiont Wolbachia Associated With Tuta absoluta Populations

open access: yesEntomologia Experimentalis et Applicata, Volume 174, Issue 5, Page 387-397, May 2026.
This study was designed to understand the association between reproductive endosymbiotic bacteria and wild and laboratory‐reared Tuta absoluta populations. The majority of T. absoluta populations showed Wolbachia presence at varying levels of infection, whereas Arsenophonus, Cardinium, and Spiroplasma were not detected. Wolbachia‐positive T.

Improved Intelligent Identification of Hammerstein-Wiener Systems by Particle Swarm Optimization and K-Means Clustering

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2019
This paper considers the robust identification of Hammerstein-Wiener systems in the presence of Gaussian or non-Gaussian noises. An improved intelligent identification scheme is exploited by combining particle swarm optimization (PSO) and K-means ...

Spiroplasma Display an Intricate Continuum of Infection Heterogeneity and Persistence in Myrmica Ants

open access: yesMolecular Ecology, Volume 35, Issue 7, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Many bacterial taxa evolved facultative symbiotic associations with insects and spread through host populations by horizontal and maternal transmission. Co‐infection at the individual host level may facilitate or constrain the spread of facultative symbionts.

Water availability shapes temporal patterns of extrafloral nectar secretion and ant visitation to a Neotropical legume

open access: yesPlant Biology, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 913-923, April 2026.
Drought duration affects ant–plant interactions: extrafloral nectar quality initially increases and subsequently declines, and ant interaction patterns closely track these nectar dynamics. Abstract Mutualistic plants use non‐structural sugar (NSC) to produce carbon‐based resources to reward partners.

Continuous-time Hammerstein model identification utilizing hybridization of Augmented Sine Cosine Algorithm and Game-Theoretic approach

open access: yesResults in Engineering
The widespread use of dynamic systems has greatly simplified various human-operated tasks. However, the complex and nonlinear nature of these systems has posed challenges in determining their structure due to heavy reliance on modeling for theoretical ...
