, 1970 The rate constants for the iodination of acetophenones have been measured colorimetrically in 1·388(M) aqueous perchloric acid. The value of p, the reaction constant and the resonaρnce interaction energy for the para substituents have also been calculated.

Polymer International, EarlyView.Side‐group functionalization enhances the reactivity and optoelectronic properties of poly(p‐phenylene vinylene) (PPV) derivatives for chemical sensing. Electronic Contributions to the σp Parameter of the Hammett Equation
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2003 A statistical procedure to obtain the intrinsic electronic contributions to the Hammett substituent constant sigma(p) is reported. The method is based on the comparison between the experimental sigma(p) values and the electronic electrophilicity index omega evaluated for a series of 42 functional groups commonly present in organic compounds.
