LMO1 Gene Polymorphisms Reduce Neuroblastoma Risk in Eastern Chinese Children: A Three-Center Case-Control Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2018
Background: Neuroblastoma, a neuroendocrine tumor, stems from the developing sympathetic nervous system. Previous genome-wide association studies (GWASs) have discovered a number of neuroblastoma susceptibility genes in Caucasians including LIM domain ...

A potential marker DYF371 for differentiating han population from non-han population in Chinese

open access: yesJournal of Forensic Science and Medicine, 2020
DYF371 locus and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) defined as DYF371C or DYF371T were simultaneously examined for 142 Chinese unrelated male individuals, including 90 Han population and 52 minorities.

Genetic mutations in patients with nonsyndromic hearing impairment of minority and Han Chinese ethnicities in Qinghai, China

open access: yesJournal of International Medical Research, 2021
Objective Mutations in GJB2 , SLC26A4 , and mitochondrial (mt)DNA 12S rRNA genes are the main cause of nonsyndromic hearing impairment. The present study analyzed these mutations in ethnic minority and Han Chinese patients with nonsyndromic hearing ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

RHC genotyping in Chinese Han population

open access: yes, 2023
Abstract The Rh blood group is a complex, polymorphic system with 56 antigens. Accurately predicting the presence of the C antigen using genotyping methods has been challenging. This study aimed to evaluate different genotyping methods for C predicting and identifying associated genetic variations in the Chinese Han population.

Ancestry Informative Marker Set for Han Chinese Population [PDF]

open access: yesG3 Genes|Genomes|Genetics, 2012
Abstract The population of Han Chinese is ∼1.226 billion people. Genetic heterogeneity between northern Han Chinese (N-Han) and southern Han Chinese (S-Han) has been demonstrated by recent genome-wide studies. As an initial step toward health disparities and personalized medicine in Chinese population, this study developed a set of ...
