Does specialized pollination impede plant invasions?
Generalized pollination systems and autonomous self-fertilization are traits that have been linked with plant invasiveness. However, whether specialized pollination requirements pose a significant barrier to plant invasions is not yet clear.

Floral meristem (FM) activity is crucial for the initiation of floral organs. In this study, SE represses IPT7 expression and cytokinin signaling via both the miR171c‐5p–KNAT2 and miR164c–CUC1/2–KNAT2 regulatory modules, thereby repressing FM activity. In contrast, STM induces both KNAT2 and IPT7 expression.

The Spatiotemporal Genetic Architecture of Seed Vigor in Upland Cotton
Leveraging the semi‐automated SeedRanger platform, we profiled the germination kinetics of 356 cotton accessions at a 30‐min interval. This high‐throughput phenomic approach delineated a temporal genetic network comprising 541 stage‐specific loci. Crucially, functional validation identified FLA2 as a pivotal, auxin‐modulated regulator that orchestrates

Comparison of Hand-Pollinated and Naturally-Pollinated Puget Balsamroot (Balsamorhiza deltoideaNutt.) to Determine Pollinator Limitations on South Puget Sound Lowland Prairies [PDF]
Abstract South Puget Sound prairies are fragmented and degraded, which has a profound effect on plant populations, especially those that are already species of concern, such as Puget balsamroot (Balsamorhiza deltoidea Nutt). Small Puget balsamroot populations may be caused by inadequate pollination via insufficient pollinator services or by low quality

Nanomaterials offer dual applications in allergy management. For diagnosis, nanomaterials enhance analytical sensitivity and improve detection in specific IgE and functional assays such as the basophil activation test (BAT). For allergen‐specific immunotherapy, nanomaterials enable allergen masking and controlled release, and effectively modulate the ...

Causal‐Guided Ultra‐Long‐Term Time Series Forecasting Via Anticipated Covariates
Often treated as unknown, information from the future remains underutilized. We demonstrate that in a coupled dynamical system, providing the future state of the effect enables accurate forecasting of the cause for a long timesteps. A time series forecasting paradigm that introduces anticipated covariates to represent such known future states is ...

Evaluating Self-Pollination Methods: Their Impact on Nut Set and Nutlet Abscission in Macadamia
Nut set is an important determinant of yield and plays a pivotal role in orchard profitability. The complex process of nut setting is governed by numerous factors, with pollination being a critical mechanism.

Pansy, Viola × wittrockiana, is a popular ornamental plant. Effects of polyploidy on phenotype and four pollination methods on capsule and seed set were studied using ten octoploid (2n = 8x) and two hexadecaploid (2n = 16x) genotypes, originating from ...

Development of a Labor-Efficient Hand Pollination Procedure for Flowering Dogwood [PDF]
Abstract The effect of frequency and timing of hand pollinations on seed set in flowering dogwood (Cornus florida L.) was studied. Six hand pollination treatments and an open-pollinated control were included in this study. The hand pollination treatments, which utilized non-emasculated flowers, were performed over a 12-day period beginning with
