Magnetic hand tracking for human-computer interface

Digests of the 2010 14th Biennial IEEE Conference on Electromagnetic Field Computation, 2010
Hand motion tracking is useful in human-computer interface and many other applications requiring human-machine interactions. In this work, permanent magnets and contactless magnetic sensors are used to track finger motion. A magnet patch is affixed to each fingernail to mark the location and orientation of the fingertip. When fingers move, the combined

Intelligent Biometric Group Hand Tracking (IBGHT) database for visual hand tracking research and development

Multimedia Tools and Applications, 2012
With the increase of innovations in vision-based hand gesture interaction system, new techniques and algorithms are being developed by researchers. However, less attention has been paid on the scope of dismantling hand tracking problems. There is also limited publicly available database developed as benchmark data to standardize the research on hand ...

Gloved and free hand tracking based hand gesture recognition

2013 1st International Conference on Emerging Trends and Applications in Computer Science, 2013
Hand gesture recognition system can be used for human-computer interaction (HCI). The use of hand gestures provides an attractive alternative to cumbersome interface devices for HCI. Proper hand segmentation from the background and other body parts of the video is the primary require ment for the design of a hand-gesture based application.

Hidden Hands: Tracking Hands with an Occlusion Aware Tracker

2016 IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition Workshops (CVPRW), 2016
This work presents an occlusion aware hand tracker to reliably track both hands of a person using a monocular RGB camera. To demonstrate its robustness, we evaluate the tracker on a challenging, occlusion-ridden naturalistic driving dataset, where hand motions of a driver are to be captured reliably.

MultiModal, Robust and Accurate Hand Tracking

2020 IEEE 6th International Conference on Computer and Communications (ICCC), 2020
3D hand tracking has a wide application prospect, for instance, in the field of human-computer interaction. Existing generative methods based on model fitting typically obtain good accuracy, but are far less robust to rapid hand motions and gestures with self-occlusions.

Hand tracking using agent-based framework

5th International Conference on Visual Information Engineering (VIE 2008), 2008
We present an agent-based framework for human hand and head tracking. The benefits of this architecture are that it simplifies system organization, facilitates flexible extension, and supports hierarchical abstraction. The framework employs low-level processing agents that computes motion- vector clusters, skin-color patches and edge.

Kinect Hand Recognition and Tracking

2012
he goal of this research project was to be able to identify and track a hand using the depth image from a Microsoft Kine ct. The a bility to do this would have uses in sign language recognition, rehabilitation, and gesture recognition amongst others. The M icrosoft Kine ct is currently capable of identifying and tracking whole bodies.

Hands tracking for augmented reality applications

2012 International Conference on Information Technology and e-Services, 2012
Augmented Reality (AR) combines real world and virtual objects which can be 3D images previously saved or real time computer generated. It enhances a user's view of the real environment by adding virtual objects in a realistic manner. Virtual objects display information that the user cannot directly detect with his senses.

Robust Hand Posture Recognition Integrating Multi-cue Hand Tracking

2010
This paper proposes a robust real-time method for hand tracking and hand posture recognition. Dealing with complex background, scale-invariance and rotation-invariance are the difficulties for hand posture recognition. To solve these difficulties, we firstly detect the specific posture using the method based on Modified Census Transform, in order to ...

Hand tracking in virtual reality

2018
