Hybrid hand tracking system

2011 18th IEEE International Conference on Image Processing, 2011
This study presents a hybrid hand tracking system using Pixel-Based Hierarchical-Feature AdaBoosting (PBHFA), skin color segmentation, and codebook background cancellation. The object of this approach is to construct a system which is able to cope with hand detection and further tracking tasks.

Hand tracking and animation

2009 11th IEEE International Conference on Computer-Aided Design and Computer Graphics, 2009
In this paper we present an approach for animating a virtual hand model with the animation data extracting from hand tracking results. We track the hand by using particle filters and deformable contour templates with a web camera; then we extend the 2D tracking results into 3D animation data using inverse kinematics method; finally, local frame based ...

Enlarging the Usable Hand Tracking Area by Using Multiple Leap Motion Controllers in VR

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2021
Leap Motion Controller (LMC) is a widely-used 3D user-interface device for virtual reality (VR) in hand tracking applications. However, the tracking area of a single LMC is not sufficient to cover the complete range of hand motion typically used in ...

Visual Hand Tracking Algorithms

Geometric Modeling and Imaging--New Trends (GMAI'06), 2006
Tracking is an important section in a gesture recognition system. Numerous techniques for segmentation, tracking, modeling and recognition have been proposed during several past years. A few papers comparing different approaches have been published [31,32]. However, a comprehensive survey on tracking is still missing.

From Hand to Hand : Tracking the Workflow of Kassite Officials

Mesopotamia : rivista di archeologia, epigrafia e storia orientale antica : LVIII, 2023, 2023
Cuneiform tablets from Kassite Babylonia record the names of thousands of individuals who interacted at different levels with the institutions that produced these texts. A useful criterion to recognize, among them, those who had an active role in the resource management is looking for personal names that follow the term “hand” (Akk.

Bimanual Hand Tracking

2006
This paper proposes a novel real-time hand tracking algorithm in the presence of occlusion. For this purpose, we construct a limb model and maintain the model obtained from ARKLT methods with respect to second-order auto-regression model and Kanade-Lucas-Tomasi(KLT) features, respectively.
