Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Analysis of driving properties of a three-wheeled vehicle with a newly designed steering system

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2019
This paper presents results of analyses of a three-wheeled vehicle with the newly designed steering system. Our design of steering system is intended to be mounted on a tricycle with the electric drivetrain.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Experimental Research of Vibrational Properties of a Single-Axle Trailer when Crossing an Individual Road Obstacle

open access: yesJournal of Mechanical Engineering, 2022
Investigation of road vehicles in term of their dynamics is very important task. There are assessed two main points of view, i.e. the driving safety and ride comfort for passenger. This article is aimed at analysis of dynamics of a single-axle trailer by

Effect of previous handling experiences on responses of dairy calves to routine husbandry procedures [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The nature of human–animal interactions is an important factor contributing to animal welfare and productivity. Reducing stress during routine husbandry procedures is likely to improve animal welfare.

Quality assessment of airline baggage handling systems using SERVQUAL and BWM

open access: yesTourism Management, 2018
The baggage handling system is a crucial part of ground handling operations, which significantly contributes to the overall satisfaction of passengers. Although several studies have investigated airline service quality, little attention has been paid to ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

Overcoming flow characterisation challenges and enhancing handling equipment selection for biomass and biowaste materials [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences
Biomass and biowaste solids often have unique particle shapes and high moisture content, posing significant challenges in handling processes. Due to the typically wide range of particle sizes, the flow properties of these materials cannot be accurately ...
