Biometric personal identification based on handwriting
Proceedings 15th International Conference on Pattern Recognition. ICPR-2000, 2002In this paper, we describe a new method to identify the writer of Chinese handwritten documents. There are many methods for signature verification or writer identification, but most of them require segmentation or connected component analysis. They are content dependent identification methods, as signature verification requires the writer to write the ...

Handwriting Identification of Short Historical Manuscripts
2018 13th IAPR International Workshop on Document Analysis Systems (DAS), 2018The study of historical documents is an important and complex branch of document analysis. Ancient manuscripts are often altered by time or environmental conditions and the availability of large data sets is not always guaranteed. In this work, we propose a new solution for the attribution of short historical documents based on both allographic and ...

Offline handwriting segmentation for writer identification
2014 International Symposium on Biometrics and Security Technologies (ISBAST), 2014In this paper we present a new technique for off-line text-independent handwriting analysis based on segmentation. Segmentation is a common step used in different research works in order to generate connected components that will be processed to extract features (geometry, concavity etc.).

Writer identification from handwriting text lines
2011 International Symposium on Innovations in Intelligent Systems and Applications, 2011In this paper, new techniques have been introduced for revealing the individual features of a person's handwriting pattern to facilitate text-independent off-line writer identification. These techniques are aimed at designing a dynamic model which can be formalized according to any handwritten text line.

Computer-Aided Identification of Handwriting
1991The Bundeskriminalamt (BKA) has for some time had a handwriting identification unit to assist it with identifying criminals. The handwriting samples collected for this purpose are presently being studied manually by means of the MALLY system, a classification system developed by the unit This is a formidable task in terms of Mai visual comparison.

Feature Selection for Forensic Handwriting Identification
2013 12th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition, 2013Current paper describes the use of a feature selection technique to reduce the number of features while the goodness set is selected on a framework for forensic handwriting identification. A sequential forward search and an evaluation criterion based on dependency were used to obtain a goodness subset (GS) to improve the identification rate.

Handwriting Identification Based on Constructing Texture
2008 First International Conference on Intelligent Networks and Intelligent Systems, 2008When textural features are applied to handwriting identification, the accuracy is not high due to the fact that the textural features fluctuate randomly because of the different contents and positions of the characters. In this paper an approach for the construction of texture images is presented.
