In Situ pH Determination Using 1H‐MRS Acetate Chemical Shift for Noninvasive Postmortem Examinations
The chemical‐shift difference between acetate and myo‐inositol measured by MRS enables estimation of pH in the acidic range. Noninvasive pH assessment in forensic investigations is demonstrated in 58 cases and validated by measurements in extracted tissue.

Matrix interpretation of multiple orthogonality
In this work we give an interpretation of a (s(d + 1) + 1)-term recurrence relation in terms of type II multiple orthogonal polynomials. We rewrite this recurrence relation in matrix form and we obtain a three-term recurrence relation for vector ...

Residual Water Suppression in MRS Using HLSVD With Automatic Component Selection Strategy
Residual water signals in magnetic resonance spectroscopy distort baselines and hinder metabolite quantification. We propose an automatic residual water removal method using HLSVD with the metric, termed as residual water to metabolite variance ratio (RWVR), to guide component selection.

Catalan Transform of k-Balancing Sequences
In this work, the Catalan transformation (CT) of k-balancing sequences, Bk,nn≥0, is introduced. Furthermore, the obtained Catalan transformation CBk,nn≥0 was shown as the product of lower triangular matrices called Catalan matrices and the matrix of k ...

An ab initio electromagnetic framework links quasinormal modes to Fano resonances in extinction spectra. Analytical expressions for the Fano asymmetry and intensity parameters are derived from overlap integrals, enabling rapid spectral reconstruction and physical interpretation.

The modes from the uncorrelated data matrix converge faster than those from the Hankel matrix. This improved convergence is observed because the columns of the uncorrelated data matrix represent data from more of the attractor than the columns of the ...

Unitary automorphisms of the space of Toeplitz-plus-Hankel matrices
Our motivation was a paper of 1991 indicating three special unitary matrices that map Hermitian Toeplitz matrices by similarity into real Toeplitz-plus-Hankel matrices.

Eigenvalue asymptotics for a class of multi-variable Hankel matrices
A one-variable Hankel matrix Ha{H}_{a} is an infinite matrix Ha=[a(i+j)]i,j≥0{H}_{a}={\left[a\left(i+j)]}_{i,j\ge 0}. Similarly, for any d≥2d\ge 2, a dd-variable Hankel matrix is defined as Ha=[a(i+j)]{H}_{{\bf{a}}}=\left[{\bf{a}}\left({\bf{i}}+{\bf{j}})]

Abstract Background AAPM Report No. 365 recommends that medical physics graduate programs offer courses covering both mathematical and statistical methods (Section 3.1.7) as well as computational methods and medical informatics (Section 3.1.8). While our program seeks to incorporate both of these essential areas into the curriculum, various financial ...
