Haplosporidium acetes n. sp. infecting the hepatopancreas of jelly prawns Acetes sibogae australis from Moreton Bay, Australia

open access: yes, 2022
Wild Acetes sibogae australis from northern Moreton Bay, Australia displaying opacity of the hepatopancreas were sampled and examined histologically, revealing infection by multinucleate plasmodia of a haplosporidian-like parasite in the epithelial cells

Haplosporidium pinnae sp.nov., a haplosporidan parasite associated with massive mortalities of the fan mussel, Pinna nobilis, in the Western Mediterranean Sea

open access: yes, 2018
This study provides morphological and molecular characterization of a new species, Haplosporidium pinnae), very likely responsible for mass mortality of fan mussels, Pinna nobilis, in the Western Mediterranean Sea.

Spore ornamentation of Minchinia occulta n. sp. (Haplosporidia) in rock oysters Saccostrea cuccullata (Born, 1778) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
A Minchinia sp. (Haplosporidia: Haplosporidiidae) parasite was identified infecting rock oysters and morphologically described by Hine and Thorne (2002) using light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy (TEM).

Spore ornamentation of Haplosporidium hinei n. sp. (Haplosporidia) in pearl oysters Pinctada maxima (Jameson, 1901) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
An infection of pearl oysters, Pinctada maxima, attributed to a Haplosporidium sp. by Hine and Thorne (1998) has been detected on 3 occasions and is considered to represent a serious concern to the pearling industry in Australia.

Hyperparasitic Spore-Forming Eukaryotes (Microsporidia, Haplosporidia, and Myxozoa) Parasitizing Trematodes (Platyhelminthes) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Trematodes serve as outstanding hosts for a variety of parasites. This paper restricts those parasites to three groups of non-related taxa parasitizing trematodes and forming invasive spores similar in external morphology, which is why in the past these ...

Fine structure of the spores of Minchinia chitonis (Lankester, 1885) Labbé, 1896 (Sporozoa: Haplosporida), a parasite of the chiton, Lepidochitona cinereus

open access: yesParasitology, 1980
SUMMARYA morphological study of the fine structure of the spores of Minchinia chitonis, a haplosporidian parasite of the chiton, Lepidochitona cinereus, is described. The spores contained a single nucleus, mitochondria, haplosporosomes, smooth endoplasmic reticulum, ribosomes and a large spherule (presumed Golgi apparatus).

Mise en évidence d'Haplosporidium sp. (Haplosporida - Haplosporidiidae) parasite de l'huître plate Ostrea edulis L. [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982

Fine-Structure Of Minchinia Sp (Haplosporida) Sporulation In Mud Crab, Panopeus-Herbstii

open access: yes, 1975
Morphogenetic changes which accompany sporulation of Minchinia sp. in the mud crab (Panopeus herbstii) are described. Small (4-19 /-1m diameter) plasmodia, the precursor cells for the sporulation sequence, increase in size and numbers of nuclei per cell ...
