Dependability issues in visual–haptic interfaces
Journal of Visual Languages and Computing, 2010Dependability of a system is commonly referred to its reliability, its availability and its maintenability (RAM), but when this concept is applied to user interfaces there is no common agreement on what aspects of user-system interaction are related to a satisfactory RAM level for the whole system.

A Haptic Gearshift Interface for Cars
2010This paper presents a two degrees–of–freedom haptic interfacethat uses force control to reproduce the behavior of a customarylever and gearshift in automotive applications. The haptic simulation ofthe gear selector lever has been done by designing suitable virtual artificialpotential functions.

A Haptic Interface for Interventional Radiology
Proceedings of the 2005 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2006Low trauma, reduced costs, fast recovery are few factors why minimally invasive surgery (MIS) is taking over classical surgical methods. Interventional Radiology (IR) is a MIS technique where thin tubular instruments are steered through the patient’s vascular system under the X-ray imaging.

Painting textures with a haptic interface
Proceedings IEEE Virtual Reality (Cat. No. 99CB36316), 2003We present a method for painting texture maps directly onto trimmed NURBS models using a haptic interface. The haptic interface enables an artist to use a natural painting style while creating a texture. It avoids the traditional difficulty of mapping between the 2D texture space and the 3D model space by using parametric information available from our

Control of a mobile haptic interface
2008 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2008The hardware and control concept of a mobile haptic interface is presented. It is intended to provide spatially unrestricted, dual-handed haptic interaction. The device is composed of two haptic displays mounted on an omnidirectional mobile base which is controlled in such a way that the haptic displays are not driven to their workspace limits.
