Haptic Rendering of Dynamic Volumetric Data
With current methods for volume haptics in scientific visualization, features in time-varying data can freely move straight through the haptic probe without generating any haptic feedback the algorithms are simply not designed to handle variation with time but consider only the instantaneous configuration when the haptic feedback is calculated.

Bio‐based and (semi‐)synthetic zwitterion‐modified novel materials and fully synthetic next‐generation alternatives show the importance of material design for different biomedical applications. The zwitterionic character affects the physiochemical behavior of the material and deepens the understanding of chemical interaction mechanisms within the ...

Pullulan, a biomass‐derived polysaccharide, is transformed into transparent optical fibers using a solvent‐free borax hydrogel‐spinning method. The fibers outperform PMMA with ≈200 MPa tensile strength and 200 °C stability, while uniquely guiding visible‐to‐NIR light and enabling additive‐free humidity sensing.

Rendering Fine Tactile Feedback With a Novel Hydraulic Actuation Method for Wearable Haptic Devices
Tiny contact transients prove very informative for dexterous, fine manipulation, both in virtual environments and teleoperation. Yet, it is challenging to obtain such quality of the rendering in compact and highly wearable haptic devices.

A pixelation‐free, monolithic iontronic pressure sensor enables simultaneous pressure and position sensing over large areas. AC‐driven ion release generates spatially varying impedance pathways depending on the pressure. Machine learning algorithms effectively decouple overlapping pressure–position signals from the multichannel outputs, achieving high ...

Frictional Compliant Haptic Contact and Deformation of Soft Objects
This paper is concerned with compliant haptic contact and deformation of soft objects. A human soft fingertip model is considered to act as the haptic interface and is brought into contact with and deforms a discrete surface. A nonlinear constitutive law
