Prop-Based Haptic Interaction with Co-location and Immersion: an Automotive Application [PDF]
Most research on 3D user interfaces aims at providing only a single sensory modality. One challenge is to integrate several sensory modalities into a seamless system while preserving each modality's immersion and performance factors.

Skin‐Like Tri‐Modal Sensors Based on Soft Piezoelectric and Ionic Composites
Inspired by the multimodal perception of human skin, a soft, skin‐like tri‐modal sensor is presented. The device incorporates an ionically conductive, piezoelectric, elastic composite as its active layer, enabling independent detection of temperature, static strain, and dynamic strain within a single two‐terminal architecture.

Audio-tactile stimuli to improve health and well-being : a preliminary position paper [PDF]
From literature and through common experience it is known that stimulation of the tactile (touch) sense or auditory (hearing) sense can be used to improve people's health and well-being.

A soft robotic simulator is developed to replicate the digital removal of feces (DRF), a sensitive yet essential nursing procedure. Integrating soft actuators, sensors, and a realistic rectal model, the simulator balances functional fidelity with perceptual realism. Engineering evaluations and nurse feedback confirm its potential to enhance training in

Haptic Water; Haptics on an Animated Surface [PDF]
Haptic rendering is becoming an important element of multimodal interaction. Often a real-time coupling between haptics and visualization is required, based upon an underlying physical model.

Remote Control of Hand Actuators via Glove Sensors for Medical Care Applications
This study presents a novel textile‐based sensory glove–actuator system for remote medical care, explored through finite element simulations. By integrating capacitive sensors, pneumatic actuators, and machine learning, the system models real‐time hand movement control.

3D mid-air audio-haptic navigation for digital signage [PDF]
In this workshop we discuss the application of using mid-air haptics to provide directions for navigation to users in large indoor spaces. We propose a feed-forward approach from objects and locations that enable a physical way of thinking, communication

From Rigid to Soft Robotic Approaches for Neuroendoscopy
Robotic assistance has had minimal impact on deep intraventricular surgeries, where small‐scale, precision, and reduced invasiveness can contribute to improved patient outcomes. Emerging technologies in rigid, soft, and hybrid robotics are reviewed to identify the most promising mechanisms for deep brain navigation in addition to an attempt to identify
