Effects of Straw Incorporation and Tillage Depth on Soil Quality in Mollisol Profiles

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Although improvements in soil quality under straw incorporation have been well documented, responses across soil profiles under different tillage depths remain unclear. To address this issue, a field experiment was established in 2011 in Mollisols with conventional tillage (20 cm depth) without straw (CT) and with straw (SCT), no tillage with ...

Mechanism of Combined Improvement of Saline‐Alkali Soil by Artificial Humic Acid and Microbial Inoculant

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT To address the widespread constraints imposed by saline‐alkaline soils on agricultural production worldwide, the combined reclamation and carbon cycle regulation effects of artificial humic acid (AHA) and a multifunctional microbial inoculant were evaluated through pot experiments. Results demonstrated that co‐application of AHA (4 g·kg−1) and

Compact Single‐Shot Incoherent Edge Detection With a Polarization‐Multiplexed Metalens

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A polarization‐sensitive metalens enables single‐shot incoherent edge detection by generating two polarization‐dependent images and digitally subtracting them to realize a high‐pass optical transfer function. ABSTRACT Edge detection under incoherent illumination is highly desirable for compact vision systems but remains challenging due to the lack of ...

Metal Polyphenol Network Enables Photo‐ATRP Under Blue Light

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
A new ligand for light‐mediated ATRP derived from a model polyphenol was modified via a Mannich reaction to form a complex with an iron‐based photocatalyst. Experiments confirmed the formation of chain‐extendable macroinitiators, as well as fractions of polymers incapable of chain extension.

In Vivo Dynamic D2O‐MRI for Quantifying Apparent CSF Water Renewal Across Ventricular and Extraventricular Compartments

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose The choroid plexus has long been regarded as the principal source of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), yet this view remains unresolved. We developed a dynamic indirect D2O MRI approach to quantify regional apparent CSF water renewal in vivo in rats at 9.4 T.
