Valorization of Post‐Consumer Waste From Metallized Flexible Packaging and Industrial EPM Waste: Development of Sustainable Composites

open access: yesJournal of Applied Polymer Science, EarlyView.
Post‐consumer metallized flexible packaging waste and industrial EPM waste are transformed into sustainable composites through mechanical recycling. The incorporation of 30 wt% EPM provides the most favorable balance between stiffness, ductility, and impact resistance, achieving 53.36 kJ/m2.

Shearer mining application to soft thin-seam with hard roof

open access: yesProcedia Earth and Planetary Science, 2009
AbstractStudy status on shearer mining in thin seams in the world is introduced. Base on the geological conditions of instable and soft thin-seam with hard roof in Caoyao Coal Mine of Yima Coal Group, China, and combined with related parameters of strata behaviors at coal faces, the paper concludes that the strata control on the thin-seam coal face is ...

Analysis of Overburden Structure and Pressure‐Relief Effect of Hard Roof Blasting and Cutting [PDF]

open access: yesAdvances in Civil Engineering, 2019
When studying the pressure‐relief effect of hard roof blasting and cutting, the roof‐cutting position and angle obviously affect the stability of the rock surrounding the gob‐side entry (GSE). In this paper, control of the large deformation of rock surrounding the GSE is evaluated on the basis of the overlying structure and pressure‐relief principle ...

Osteological correlates of the respiratory and vascular systems in the neural canals of Mesozoic ornithurines Ichthyornis and Janavis

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract In birds, the neural canal houses a variety of anatomical structures including the spinal cord, meninges, spinal vasculature, and respiratory diverticula. Among these, paramedullary diverticula and the extradural dorsal spinal vein may leave behind osteological correlates in the form of pneumatic foramina and fossae, and a bilobed geometry of ...

Disaster mechanism of thick-hard roof and control technology by hydraulic fracture with directional long borehole

open access: yesMeitan kexue jishu
In response to the main technical challenges faced by coal production enterprises in the long-term prevention and control of disasters caused by the thick-hard hanging roof fracturing in longwall mining faces, taking the 8238 fully-mechanized top-caving ...

Bending Moment Characteristics of Hard Roof before First Breaking of Roof Beam Considering Coal Seam Hardening [PDF]

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2018
The mechanical properties of a coal seam affect the distribution of support pressure. Considering the strain hardening effect of coal seam, the support pressure relationship of three zones—softened, hardened, and elastic—of a coal seam with regard to a hard roof is proposed, and methods to determine an approximate expression for the support pressure of

Functional anatomy, jaw mechanisms, and feeding behavior of Dunkleosteus terrelli (Placodermi, Arthrodira)

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
A new musculoskeletal reconstruction and revision of the cranio‐mandibular anatomy of the Devonian arthrodire placoderm Dunkleosteus terrelli from a comparative and functional anatomical perspective. Dunkleosteus is a specialized arthrodire with many specializations for feeding on large vertebrates, and many of its features are part of broader ...

Mechanism of strong mine pressure in composite hard roofs and identification of the primary control layer

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk
Multilayered hard roofs overlie coal seams, and the instability mechanism of roof structures under combined stress conditions is highly complex. Through integrated approaches including physical similarity simulation, theoretical analysis, and engineering

A detailed redescription of a skeletally immature ‘Redondasaurus’ suggests ontogenetic transformations in the taxon mirror phytosaurian morphological evolution

open access: yesThe Anatomical Record, EarlyView.
Abstract The study of morphological evolution is fundamentally tied to ontogeny, yet studies of these heterochronic processes in the fossil record are rare. Fossils belonging to an ontogenetic series are difficult to assign to an ontogenetic stage due to inconsistent proxies for skeletal ages, challenging to taxonomically assign due to morphological ...

Fracture and control technology of hard and thick rock in mining engineering

open access: yesGeomatics, Natural Hazards & Risk, 2023
The advent of non-pillar mining technology of self-formed roadway based on roof cutting theory (NPMTSFRRCT) has revolutionized the method of tackling the difficulties posed by hard suspended roofs in mining engineering.
