Work–Life Fragility, Dilemmas, and “Gambling” at the Intersection of Fertility Treatment and Employment

open access: yesGender, Work &Organization, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Infertility is a working age population issue, meaning that many individuals undergoing fertility treatment are also in paid work—having to navigate conflicts between two often “greedy institutions,” which can both bring precarity. Traditional approaches to examining the work–life interface, focusing mainly on temporal issues, fail to account ...

A weighted inequality for derivatives on the half-line

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 1997
Some inequalities will be presented, which give weighted norm estimates for derivatives of functions defined on the half-line. These inequalities are related to Hardy's inequality, and they also generalize Hardy's inequality to higher derivatives.

About Wigner Friend's and Hardy's paradox in a Bohmian approach: a comment of `Quantum theory cannot' consistently describe the use of itself' [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
This is an analysis of the recently published article `Quantum theory cannot consistently describe the use of itself' by D. Frauchiger and R. Renner~\cite{1}.

Hardy's nonlocality argument as witness for post-quantum correlation

open access: yes, 2012
Recently, Gallego et.al. [Phys. Rev. Lett 107, 210403 (2011)] proved that any future information principle aiming at distinguishing between quantum and post-quantum correlation must be intrinsically multipartite in nature.

Before It Was ‘New’: A Neglected History of Lived Experience–Led Criminal Justice

open access: yesThe Howard Journal of Crime and Justice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A growing range of criminal justice initiatives are being shaped and delivered by people with lived experience, including peer mentoring, prisoner councils and policy advocacy roles. While often seen as recent innovations, we reveal a deeper, largely unacknowledged history dating back to at least the 19th century.

Moment Determinacy of Powers and Products of Nonnegative Random Variables [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We find conditions which guarantee moment (in)determinacy of powers and products of nonnegative random variables. We establish new and general results which are based either on the rate of growth of the moments of a random variable or on conditions about

Hardy's proof of nonlocality in the presence of noise

open access: yes, 2006
We extend the validity of Hardy's nonlocality without inequalities proof to cover the case of special one-parameter classes of non-pure statistical operators.

Tasks as a Link Between Technology Introduction and Continuing Training: Evidence of a Mediating Mechanism in Firms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Training and Development, EarlyView.
Abstract New technology is changing the skills that employers demand and the tasks that employees perform. Technological change is therefore increasing the need for continuing vocational training. However, little is known about the association between technology introduction, employees' job tasks and continuing training participation in firms ...

Longitudinal associations between violence exposure and adolescent conduct problems in a high‐adversity, South African setting

open access: yesJournal of Child Psychology and Psychiatry, EarlyView.
Background Violence exposure is a well‐established risk factor for adolescent conduct problems, yet longitudinal research in high‐adversity, low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) remains limited. This study investigated whether early adolescent violence exposure predicts concurrent and longer‐term conduct problems, and explored potential ...

On a New Hilbert-Hardy-Type Integral Operator and Applications

open access: yesJournal of Inequalities and Applications, 2010
By applying the way of weight functions and a Hardy's integral inequality, a Hilbert-Hardy-type integral operator is defined, and the norm of operator is obtained.
