Current Status and Challenges in Data Collection for Aerospace Coatings Deposited by Plasma Spraying

An innovative approach has been integrated into the GRENAT project to optimize plasma spraying and coating performance. Raw materials are accelerated and melted in the plasma generated by torches, creating coatings. Monitoring sensors collect process data which are combined with ex situ characterization data.

Microstructure Reconstruction in Battery Electrodes Using Machine Learning Based on Low‐Voltage Focused Ion Beam–Scanning Electron Microscopy Tomography Images

Low‐voltage FIB‐SEM tomography combined with a image preprocessing pipeline improves phase contrast and enables reliable machine‐learning segmentation of conductive networks in lithium‐ion battery electrodes. Structural descriptors are extracted from segmented images, done semimanually and automated, and compared.

Rapidly Solidified High‐Strength Invar 36 Prepared by Planar‐Flow Melt Spinning

The Invar 36 alloy was rapidly solidified using the planar‐flow melt‐spinning technique. Ribbon samples with thicknesses ranging from 20 to 160 mm were produced. As the grain size of the ribbon decreased to sub‐micron levels, the hardness increased by more than 2 times.

Nonlinear damped forced oscillators with quadratic-biquadratic nonlinearities

A modified harmonic balance method (MHBM) has been extended for solving strongly nonlinear damped forced oscillators with quadratic-biquadratic nonlinearities. Depending on the parameter values and initial conditions, its behavior is quite complex.
