Attochirp-free High-order Harmonic Generation

open access: yes, 2011
A method is proposed for arbitrarily engineering the high-order harmonic generation phase achieved by shaping a laser pulse and employing xuv light or x rays for ionization.

Understanding and Optimizing Li Substitution in P2‐Type Sodium Layered Oxides for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores Li‐substituted P2 layered oxides for Na‐ion batteries by crystallographic and electrochemical studies. The effect of lithium on superstructure orderings, on phase transitions during synthesis and electrochemical cycling and on the interplay of O‐ versus TM‐redox is revealed via various advanced techniques, including semi‐simultaneous

Grid Power Quality Enhancement Using Fuzzy Control-Based Shunt Active Filtering [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Active filtering has proved efficient for the mitigation of harmonics in distribution grids. This paper deals with the design of fuzzy control strategies for a three-phase shunt active filter to enhance the power quality via the regulation of the DC bus ...

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Using Parallel Active Power Filter Based on Voltage Detection on a Radial Distribution Feeder with the Aim of Reducing the Harmonic Propagation and Whack-a-Mole Phenomena [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Intelligent Procedures in Electrical Technology, 2012
In order to damping of harmonic propagation phenomenon, active power filters are installed on distribution networks. Active power filter installed on buses may cause harmonic oscillation phenomenon and whack-a-mole. In this paper, a parallel active power

Harmonic currents compensator GCI at the microgrid [PDF]

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2016
The main challenge associated with the grid‐connected inverter (GCI) in distributed generation systems is keeping the harmonic content of the output current below the specified value and compensating for unbalanced loads even when the grid is subject to disturbances such as harmonic distortion and unbalanced loads.

Generation of sub-17  fs vacuum ultraviolet pulses at 133  nm using cascaded four-wave mixing through filamentation in Ne. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The sixth harmonic (6ω, 133 nm) of a Ti:sapphire laser is generated using cascaded four-wave mixing in filamentation propagation of the fundamental (ω) and the second harmonic (2ω) pulses through Ne gas.

BACH, a Bayesian Optimization Protocol for Accurate Coarse‐Grained Parameterization of Organic Liquids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present a fully automated Bayesian optimization (BO) protocol for the parameterization of nonbonded interactions in coarse‐grain CG force fields (BACH). Using experimental thermophysical data, we apply the protocol to a broad range of liquids, spanning linear, branched, and unsaturated hydrocarbons, esters, triglycerides, and water.
