Development of Harmonic Drive Combining Four Arcs for Conventional Kinematic Application
This paper proposes a modified harmonic cam, which is used to design a harmonic drive. Conventional harmonic drives using a sinusoidal cam type pertain to an elastic body concept and are thus difficult to design and evaluate.

Analysis of trimming in internal gear cutting using normal polar coordinates
An effective approach to tooth-profile expression using normal polar coordinates has been proposed by Watanabe in 1949, but not applied to practical design.

Transport by bi-harmonic drives: from harmonic to vibrational mixing
Transport in a one-dimensional symmetric device can be activated by the combination of thermal noise and a bi-harmonic drive. The results of extensive simulations allow us to distinguish between two apparently different bi-harmonic regimes: (i) harmonic mixing, where the two drive frequencies are commensurate but not too high; (ii) vibrational mixing ...

Hysteresis stiffness is an inherent property of harmonic gear drive. In the traditional dynamic modeling of harmonic gear drive, the stiffness is considered as fixed stiffness or piecewise fixed stiffness, which will lead to reduction of the accuracy of ...

ABSTRACT Background Survival after relapse in pediatric acute myeloid leukemia (AML) remains poor, highlighting the critical importance of identifying prognostic factors to guide optimal relapse management. Methods We investigated the prognostic impact of multiparameter flow cytometry (MFC) measurable residual disease (MRD) in 188 patients with first ...

ABSTRACT Pediatric supportive care clinical trials often involve multiple clinically important outcomes, complicating trial interpretation. Hierarchical composite endpoints (HCEs) provide a framework to integrate key outcomes according to clinical importance.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.
