Harmonic and rational harmonic driving of microresonator soliton frequency combs
With demonstrated applications ranging from metrology to telecommunications, soliton microresonator frequency combs have emerged over the past decade as a remarkable new technology. However, standard implementations allow only for the generation of combs whose repetition rate is tied closely to the fundamental resonator free ...

Photonic microwave harmonic generator driven by an optoelectronic ring oscillator [PDF]
We describe a new architecture to generate microwave signals by optical means. Our system combines the advantages of two techniques: frequency multipliers and loop oscillators.

We propose an inductive method to measure critical current density $J_c$ in bulk superconductors. In this method, an ac magnetic field is generated by a drive current $I_0$ flowing in a small coil mounted just above the flat surface of superconductors ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Dissipation in a superconducting artificial atom due to a single non-equilibrium quasiparticle
We study a superconducting artificial atom which is represented by a single Josephson junction or a Josephson junction chain, capacitively coupled to a coherently driven transmission line, and which contains exactly one residual quasiparticle (or up to ...

An Improved Sideband Current Harmonic Model of Interior PMSM Drive by Considering Magnetic Saturation and Cross-Coupling Effects [PDF]
The sideband current harmonics, as parasitic characteristics in permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) drives with space vector pulsewidth modulation technique, will increase the corresponding electromagnetic loss, torque ripple, vibration, and ...

Aggressive prostate cancer is associated with pericyte dysfunction
Tumor‐produced TGF‐β drives pericyte dysfunction in prostate cancer. This dysfunction is characterized by downregulation of some canonical pericyte markers (i.e., DES, CSPG4, and ACTA2) while maintaining the expression of others (i.e., PDGFRB, NOTCH3, and RGS5).

Non-harmonic response of relativistic particle to driving harmonic force
We consider the properties of one-dimensional oscillations of a relativistic particle under a driving harmonic force. It is found that in the general case the speed oscillations are an infinite sum of odd sinusoidal and even cosinusoidal waves. In the limiting case of the ultra-relativistic particle, they represent a square wave.

Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...
