Analysis of Air-Gap Field Modulation in Parallel-Hybrid-Excited Harmonic-Shift Machines

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 2021
In this article, the parallel-hybrid-excited harmonic-shift machine (PHE-HSM) is analyzed from the perspective of the field-modulation effect based on the air-gap field harmonics. By shifting the pole-pairs of the dc-field windings from those of the permanent magnets (PMs), the parallel-hybrid excitation can be realized due to field modulation.

Measurements of Harmonic Wake Fields Excited by Rough Surfaces

Physical Review Letters, 2002
An experiment has been carried out at the TESLA Test Facility linac to investigate the wake fields generated by picosecond electron bunches in narrow beam pipes with an artificially roughened inner surface. The energy structure imposed on the bunches by the wake fields has been analyzed with a magnetic spectrometer.

Selective excitation in harmonic molecular systems by optimally designed fields

Chemical Physics, 1989
Abstract The goal of selective local excitation in a harmonic system can be achieved via optimally designed field. For achieving a given primary objective of selective excitation in the molecular system there may be a family of optimal fields that correspond to a variety of additional physical concerns.

Influence of Stator Slot and Rotor Pole Number Combination on Field Winding Induced Voltage Ripple in Hybrid Excitation Switched Flux Machine

IEEE transactions on energy conversion, 2021
The induced voltage ripple in DC field windings can cause many problems in hybrid excitation machines (HEMs). It can generate ripple current in field winding, thus causing unsteady magnetic field excitation and hence additional torque ripple and losses ...

Non-linear interactions of acoustic fields with plates under harmonic excitations

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1978
The method of renormalization is used to determine a uniformly valid expansion for the problem of non-linear interactions of acoustic fields with plates under harmonic excitations. The expansion obtained is in agreement with that obtained by Ginsberg, who used the method of strained co-ordinates to render the potential uniform and then used the method ...

Studies on the Vorticity Field of Harmonically Excited Bluff-Body Flames

46th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2008
This paper describes an experimental study of the effect of acoustic excitation on bluff- body stabilized flames. The Kelvin-Helmholtz (KH) instability of the shear layer is excited due to the incident acoustics. In turn, the KH instability imposes a convecting, harmonic excitation on the flame, which leads to spatially periodic flame wrinkling and ...

Giant Enhancement and Directional Second Harmonic Emission from Monolayer WS2 on Silicon Substrate via Fabry-Pérot Micro-Cavity.

ACS Nano, 2022
Two-dimensional transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) possess large second-order optical nonlinearity, making them ideal candidates for miniaturized on-chip frequency conversion devices, all-optical interconnection, and optoelectronic integration ...

Self-Excited Diode Rectifying Wound-Field Synchronous Motor Utilizing Space Harmonics and Flux-Intensifying with Carrier Harmonics

2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019
This paper describes a novel self-excitation technique in which space harmonics and carrier harmonic is effectively utilized for the field magnetization instead of permanent magnets. The unique point of this technique are the following points. The second-order space harmonic that is structurally unavoidably generated in the motor with concentrated ...
