Measurements of Harmonic Wake Fields Excited by Rough Surfaces

Physical Review Letters, 2002
An experiment has been carried out at the TESLA Test Facility linac to investigate the wake fields generated by picosecond electron bunches in narrow beam pipes with an artificially roughened inner surface. The energy structure imposed on the bunches by the wake fields has been analyzed with a magnetic spectrometer.

A Novel Parallel Hybrid Excitation Field Modulated Machine With Efficient Utilization of Multiworking Harmonics

IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2022
In this article, a novel parallel hybrid excitation field modulated machine with efficient utilization of multiworking harmonics is proposed. The key of the proposed machine is to efficiently integrate the parallel hybrid excitation and multiworking harmonics to enhance average output torque and flux regulation capability.

Rare-earth-less motor with field poles excited by space harmonics

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper describes a synchronous motor in which space harmonics power is utilized for field magnetization instead of permanent magnets. The stator has a concentrated winding structure, and the rotor has two sorts of windings, i.e., an induction pole (I-pole) winding that retrieves mainly the third space harmonics and an excitation pole (E-pole ...

Selective excitation in harmonic molecular systems by optimally designed fields

Chemical Physics, 1989
Abstract The goal of selective local excitation in a harmonic system can be achieved via optimally designed field. For achieving a given primary objective of selective excitation in the molecular system there may be a family of optimal fields that correspond to a variety of additional physical concerns.

Studies on the Vorticity Field of Harmonically Excited Bluff-Body Flames

46th AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting and Exhibit, 2008
This paper describes an experimental study of the effect of acoustic excitation on bluff- body stabilized flames. The Kelvin-Helmholtz (KH) instability of the shear layer is excited due to the incident acoustics. In turn, the KH instability imposes a convecting, harmonic excitation on the flame, which leads to spatially periodic flame wrinkling and ...

The third superharmonic resonance of inclined beam subjected to harmonic excitation in temperature field

Proceedings of 2011 International Conference on Electronic & Mechanical Engineering and Information Technology, 2011
Based on nonlinear vibration equation of inclined beam subjected to harmonic excitation in temperature field, the first approximate solution of the 3 superharmonic resonance of the nonlinear vibration system is obtained by means of the method of multiple scales for nonlinear oscillations.

Non-linear interactions of acoustic fields with plates under harmonic excitations

Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1978
The method of renormalization is used to determine a uniformly valid expansion for the problem of non-linear interactions of acoustic fields with plates under harmonic excitations. The expansion obtained is in agreement with that obtained by Ginsberg, who used the method of strained co-ordinates to render the potential uniform and then used the method ...

Accurate Analyses of the On-Axis Fields of a Circular Disk by Transient and Harmonic Excitation

Chinese Physics Letters, 1997
The computation of near zone fields is very important in many practical applications. Accurate analyses of the on-axis fields of a circular disk by transient and harmonic excitation show that there is an energy uprising zone on the axis rather than a non-decaying one, provided that the disk is excited by a rectangular pulse, the duration of which is ...

Excitation of non-harmonic fields in an electrodynamic system

The Fifth International Kharkov Symposium on Physics and Engineering of Microwaves, Millimeter, and Submillimeter Waves (IEEE Cat. No.04EX828), 2004
There is a universal approach to the spectra theoretical investigations of microwave tubes, which may be called spectral. This idea consists in simultaneous accounting for all temporal harmonics of the fields and the currents over a frequency continuum, taking into consideration their non-linear interaction, and obtaining frequency dependencies of the ...
