Excitation of non-harmonic fields in an electrodynamic system

The Fifth International Kharkov Symposium on Physics and Engineering of Microwaves, Millimeter, and Submillimeter Waves (IEEE Cat. No.04EX828), 2004
There is a universal approach to the spectra theoretical investigations of microwave tubes, which may be called spectral. This idea consists in simultaneous accounting for all temporal harmonics of the fields and the currents over a frequency continuum, taking into consideration their non-linear interaction, and obtaining frequency dependencies of the ...

Theoretical analysis of novel wound-field synchronous motor self-excited by space harmonics

7th IET International Conference on Power Electronics, Machines and Drives (PEMD 2014), 2014
This paper describes a theoretical analysis of a self-excited wound-field synchronous motor in which space harmonics power is utilized for field magnetization instead of permanent magnets. The operation principle of the proposed motor can be explicated by a voltage equation on the synchronous rotating reference frame.

Dual Third-Harmonic-Current Excitation Principle of a Brushless Synchronous Machine Based on Double Three-Phase Armature Windings

International Conference on Electrical Machines and Systems, 2019
Traditional harmonic excitation synchronous machine can only be used for generator. One of the main reasons why the harmonic excitation synchronous machine can not be used as a motor is that the field current of the harmonic excitation synchronous ...

Novel Sub-Harmonic-Based Self-Excited Brushless Wound Rotor Synchronous Machine

IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2022
This article aims to realize a self-excited wound rotor synchronous machine (WRSM) topology established while considering the subharmonic field excitation scheme.

Parametric excitation of a cavity field mode coupled to a harmonic oscillator detector

Journal of Physics A: Mathematical and Theoretical, 2013
We study the parametric resonance in a system of two coupled quantum harmonic oscillators when the frequency of one of them (describing the field mode) is modulated at exactly twice the unperturbed eigenfrequency (the case of ‘unshifted resonance’).

Light-field control of real and virtual charge carriers

Nature, 2022
Light-driven electronic excitation is a cornerstone for energy and information transfer. In the interaction of intense and ultrafast light fields with solids, electrons may be excited irreversibly, or transiently during illumination only.

Resonant Interactions and Chaotic Excitation in Nonlinear Surface Waves in Dense Plasma

IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, 2022
By employing a quantum hydrodynamic (QHD) model with appropriate boundary conditions, the nonlinear self-interaction of an electrostatic surface wave on otherwise homogeneous semibounded plasma with degeneracy effects is investigated.

Consequent-Pole Hybrid Excitation Brushless Wound Field Synchronous Machine With Fractional Slot Concentrated Winding

IEEE transactions on magnetics, 2019
In this paper, a new consequent-pole hybrid excitation brushless wound field synchronous machine (CpHE-BL-WFSM) with fractional-slot concentrated winding is proposed.

Mathematical model of novel wound-field synchronous motor self-excited by space harmonics

2014 International Power Electronics Conference (IPEC-Hiroshima 2014 - ECCE ASIA), 2014
This paper describes mathematical modeling of a novel wound-field synchronous motor self-excited by space harmonics. The torque equation on the dq-reference frame is investigated to clarify the self-excitation mechanism of the proposed motor. It has been analytically explicated how the motor parameters give influences on the self-excited electromagnet ...

Stray-field loss and flux distribution inside magnetic steel plate under harmonic excitation

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 2017
Purpose This paper aims to investigate an efficient approach to model the electromagnetic behaviors and predict stray-field loss inside the magnetic steel plate under 3D harmonic magnetization conditions so as to effectively prevent the structural components from local overheating and insulation damage in electromagnetic devices.
